SCALING a tree to sleep for the day, (Y/N) let out a sigh as she looked out at the expansive space of the Final Selection boundaries. The birds were twittering in the early morning air, signaling that all demons had disappeared into whatever caves or holes they took cover in from the blazing and scorching properties of the sun. Draping an arm over her eyes, she couldn't help be feel relief winding through her muscles and loosening them now that she finally had a break.

It was only the second day of Final Selection, yet already the demons were relentless.

They were starving.

Ravenous.

Completely animalistic.

Whatever humanity they might have retained was all but snuffed out the moment they were brought here to the mountain to be treated like cattle for slaughter. Taking her arm away from her face, staring up through the trees' leaves at the brightening sky above, her frown deepened at her swirling thoughts. No, she knew demons had no more humanity left if they stooped to the vile point of eating humans for power.

Yet, she couldn't help but wonder.

From the demons I've met, more specifically Kokushibo and Akaza... there is something.

It's only a flicker.

But it's still there, nonetheless.

There's something still tying them back to their human lives—I don't know what it is per se, but all I know is that it hurts.

As for Muzan and Douma...

(Y/N) flicked her eyes to the side, unsure of how to even label the two sadistic and completely detached demons. Muzan didn't try to hide his bloodlust and thirst for power, nor did he hide his utter revulsion for humans as a whole, even if his interactions with her was an exception to that rule. As for Douma, he was the exact opposite, who used a pretty smile and even prettier words to hide the black soul that encroached upon his very being.
