Snooping around Small Heath had not been Birdie's best decision and as soon as her brother found out about it, so did Thomas Shelby. But Birdie wasn't too stupid and had once again conveniently left out her last name so all Thomas Shelby was looking for was a Birdie with no last name. The only problem was that the whole town of Small Heath was dangerously loyal to the Shelbys and as it seemed, he was determined to find this Birdie who's been asking odd questions.

Nothing good came out of newcomers and questions, Thomas knew that much and was not interested in burying any more family members. What he was interested in was Luca Changretta and his painful death but not before putting a bullet into another family member of his.

Luca had ordered Birdie under house arrest. Not because of her little trip to the hospital but because the rumor has it that Thomas Shelby was looking for a young woman with red curly hair.

"How long do I have to stay put?" Birdie complained, laying on a couch with her feet up on the armrest. "You know I don't do house arrest well."

"This is not house arrest. Consider yourself grounded," Luca said.

"Grounded? I'm not a child, Luca," huffed Birdie.

The tension between the two siblings was running high. They haven't spent that much time together in the past few years and it was beginning to have its effects. Audrey had warned her daughter about it — Luca and Birdie were both very strong-willed and opinionated people and even in their childhood it caused some tension between the two.

"Well you are certainly acting like one," said Luca, pouring a glass of whiskey for himself. "You are running around Small Heath, asking questions you shouldn't be asking. Meeting people you shouldn't be meeting."

"How was I supposed to know not to have a conversation with a doctor, huh?" Birdie glared at her brother.

Luca shook his head. "You can have a conversation but not in a town that's ruled by the Peaky fucking Blinders. Now Thomas Shelby wants to know who the red haired girl is."

"He was going to find out about me soon enough," argued Birdie.

"I am going to send you back to New York," Luca said as he sat down on a leather chair, looking at Birdie whose eyes grew wide as she shook her head. "I am, Birdie. You can't stay here, not now."

"You can't do that!" Birdie exclaimed, jumping up from the couch. "I won't go, Luca. I came here to help you and to find a thing or two about my past. And I found out something and..."

"You found out a name," Luca interrupted his sister. "A name that you already knew."

Birdie scoffed. "I didn't know it was Stone. Elizabeth Stone."
