Kenny sat at the edge of his couch, hands resting on his knees as he looked around his quiet apartment. Outside, the sun was setting, Casting a soft glow through his windows.it had been one of the days, filled with moments that lingired, nagging in the back of his mind. that's when he heard a soft knock at the door.

"hey" Sarah stood there, her face with a creased with a smile and a mix of worry. "is now a bad time?" she asks.

"Never" He replied stepping aside to let her in. they where getting married in a couple days but today something felt different. he could feel it before she spoke.

She sat down on the couch scanning room as if she was searching for something to give her comfort. After a deep breath, she turned to face him. "Kenny, i feel like there's something we need to talk about".

He nodded, unsure of where this was going but bracing himself. "Okay...Go ahead".

She looked down at her hands. "Lately, I've been feeling like maybe...maybe im not the only one in your life your life you're in love with". She hesitated, then continued, "it's Toni. There's just something there.it's like you share this...bond, and i don't know if i'm imagining it."

Kenny swallowed , his mind racing, caught off gaurd by her honesty, "Sarah," he started, reaching for her hand, "Toni and I...we've been friends for years. she's like family to me. you have nothing to worry about."

Sarah looked into his eyes , searching for reassuarance. "but are you sure, Kenny? sometimes when you talk about her, it's like you light up in a way is different, and then at the bridal shower-Kenny baby? are you having doubts about us?"

He hesitated, feeling his pulse quicken. he wanted to tell her she was wrong, that Toni was just a friend, that there was nothing there. But deep down, he knew there was more to his feelings for Toni than he'd ever let himself acknowledge.

He took a deep breathe, forcing himself to look her in the eyes. he truly loved her and didn't think it was fair to hurt her like that. "I care about you. You're the one i'm with, the one i chose to be with. I promise you, Toni is just a friend. that's it.". he held her by her waist close and caressed her face. she gave a small nod, but he could see the doubt lingering behind her gaze. she looked away  for a moment. "Okay," she said finally, her voice barley above a whisper. "I believe you....I want to believe you."

They sat in silence for a few moments, the weight of unspoken feelings pressing down on the both of them. Kenny felt a pang of guilt, but he knew he wasn't ready to confront the full truth of his feelings for Toni, at least not now, maybe not ever. So instead, he pulled sarah close, letting his embrace be a promise of something simpler, even if his heart was torn between two places.

in that moment, he realized that, even though he had made his choice, there would always be part of him that belonged to Toni, a part he might never fully let go.
