Thursday, September 22nd.

Your hands trembled as you stared at the phone screen, the cryptic message glaring back at you.

Unknown;

Meet me at the library at midnight.

Or else everyone else will find out.

Your mind raced, trying to piece together who could have sent this and what they were referring to.

What have you done?

Was it someone from Marley?

It has to be.

But who?

Panic surged through you, but you knew you couldn't ignore it.

Whoever sent this was serious, and you needed to find out who they were and what they wanted.

Panic surged through you, but you knew you couldn't ignore it. Whoever sent this was serious, and you needed to find out who they were and what they wanted.

You glanced over at Sasha, who had just gotten into bed. She was already drifting off, her breathing steady and peaceful.

You didn't want to alarm her, especially since you had no idea what you were walking into.

You not so patiently waited until the clock read 11:30pm before you shakily sat up.

Taking a deep breath, you quietly got out of bed and put on a large black hoodie over your pyjamas.

You grabbed your phone, making sure it was fully charged.

You knew that if Sasha knew where you were going she would rise from her slumber and beat your ass like nobody's business.

You also knew that this was stupid and very unsafe.

But you had to go.

You had to find out what was happening.

You slipped out of the dorm room silently, hoping not to wake Sasha.

The campus was eerily quiet as you made your way to the old library, the shadows seeming to stretch and twist in the moonlight.

Your footsteps echoed softly on the pavement, the only sound breaking the stillness of the night.

As you approached the library, you felt a chill run down your spine.

The old library stood tall and imposing, it's dark windows reflecting the pale light of the moon.

You took a deep breath and pushed open the heavy wooden door, the creak of the hinges echoing through the empty building.

Inside, the air was cool and musty, the scent of old books and aged wood filling your nostrils.

You shone your phone flashlight around, the beam cutting through the darkness and casting long, eerie shadows.

"Hello?" you called out, your voice wavering slightly. "What do you want?"

For a moment, there was nothing but silence. Then, from the depths of the library, you heard a soft, almost mocking laugh.

"So you came. Brave, or perhaps foolish."

Your heart pounded in your chest as you whipped around, trying to pinpoint the source of the voice.
