25th October 2020

A year later, somewhere between then and now, she managed to find herself a boyfriend. Very loving and understanding one. However, their relationship was never stable.

Belle had sworn to herself she'd never do anything bad to her body. But that promise was a lie.

A few months after her mum passed away from the tragic heart attack, she turned to alcoholism.

She knew it wasn't healthy but was the only way she was able to cope without permanently damaging her body on the outside.
She had to keep her perfect image up.

Before she started dating, she was all alone with her thoughts.

Her dad ended up marrying again into a 'wealthier, dutch family' thinking it was for the better. However, all it did was break her heart more.

She only found out at the wedding, which so happened to be on the year anniversary of her mother's death.
An egotistical bastard.

There, she found out the dutch family was actually one of the one and only Max Verstappen. She knew he was famous and loved by the globe, but she was frightened to know he was about to become her step-brother.

Never in her eighteen years of living would she think she'd meet someone as famous as him. But here she was, about to be related to him.

He himself looked displeased at the newfound marriage, but he had been forced to go along with it.

Belle sat and cried. She never celebrated anything. All she cared for was her mother, but nobody else seemed to notice it's been a year.

She thought she found herself a well hidden place to let her thoughts out, but instead was found.

Max had found her.

He didn't know she was about to be related to him, but she knew.
He hadn't even known her name. To him, it was a random guest...

But since he found the girl, he had to make sure she was alright. Even if he came to hide from his own mind. "And why are you crying.. such a perfect day, eh?"

Many attempts of speaking outloud later, she managed to throw out some mumbles to him, "Its not- never will be. Go away" although he wasn't cutting it.

He wanted to find out why such a precious girl was doing hiding out in the cold

She, however, had no interest in convosating.

Max was more than worried about her. It was pitch black. She was nothing but alone, and in tears. Anyone could've found her and laughed at her? In his mind, she should be lucky it was him who noticed her here.

He tried to help. But he had no clue how to. His own mental health was messed up. The divorce of the once loving Sophie and Jos Verstappen ruined any happiness he once had. It never once was easy on him.

At one point, he stopped trying to soothe her but instead tried to meet the girl. Maybe this way, she'd get distracted by whatever was flooding her head with this sudden pain. "Im Max Verstappen. You?"

Looking up at him, she had no idea how to respond. Was she going to pretend she had no clue who he was or reveal she was the one who her father was marrying his mother?
"I know who you are... im Belle, your soon to be sister." And this set Max's eyes into a wide gaze.

This couldn't be the first time he was actually meeting a future sibling. It couldn't be.

"Ah, belle; well, it's nice to finally meet you!" As much shock he was in, he tried to contain himself. His mission right now was to correct her mood. Sitting down next to her ragged, navy gown, now covered in mud due to the rain and floor she had sat on, Max did not care at all. Softly exclaiming to her so she hopfully tell him the situation shes in. "Now tell me, why are you crying. For real belly.."

He failed. He made her cry even more. Belly was her mums nickname for Belle.

She allowed it though. For once in her life, she felt wanted again. Somehow, Max's small interaction had calmed her down.

It may have caused more tears to escape her mysterious forest green eyes, but in a way, she felt safe again.

Max persuaded her to return to the wedding hall. It was extremely icy by the time Belle told him everything there was to say.

She spared no details. He was quite eager to listen, so she took it as an opportunity to let it all out, and he allowed her to do so.

At that point, he knew how vunlerable she was and hadn't left her side. He made sure she was comfortable with everything throughout the rest of the night

A few excruciating hours passed, and it was over. The pair could cut the happy act and live trying to block the marriage out.

Before they left, Max knew he couldn't just let her go. They weren't going to live with their parents, so he knew the contact between them would be cut. Therefore, he made sure to exchange numbers. As a precaution. He didn't want shit like that to happen to her again, especially not alone.
