Soichiro Hoshina, sixth division captain of the Japan Anti Kaiju Defense Force. Known to be cool, calm, and collected man.
But right now, he's feeling mischievous.
As he stared at the long pink haired girl with green tips, also braided as he might add who's currently humming to herself as she works on her paperwork.
[Name] Kanroji, one of the platoon leaders of the Sixth Division. Known to be very energetic, constantly radiates positive energy, very trustworthy, and very strong.
And the Captain of the Sixth Division can't help but smirk to himself, fox-like eyes staring at the girl as he places his hand underneath his chin.
He may be responsible when it comes to his work for the force but Soichiro Hoshina is still an older brother, and he hasn't been doing his elderly brother duties for a while now.
In other words, he hasn't made fun of Soshiro for some time now and what better way to tease his little brother by playing matchmaker?
He hasn't heard from the younger male for some time now, Soichiro knows that his younger brother is ignoring him.
He only knew what was happening in his younger brother's life through their father.
And Soichiro is concerned that his younger brother isn't married yet... Not that Soichiro himself is married yet but that's not the point.
He wants nephews or nieces, he can't have that if his brother isn't married.
And knowing his brother, that man doesn't have any plans on getting married sometime soon.
And he is trying to change that, because he wants nephews or nieces and also, he thinks it would be funny.
The Sixth Division Captain already asked Gyomei, his Vice Captain for his input and the man agreed and thought that transferring Kanroji to a different Division would be better.
Because in his exact words said to Gyomei was, “I believe we should transfer Kanroji to the Third Division, as I know that the Third Division has a Vice Captain whose expertise is the blade and I'm sure Kanroji would greatly appreciate getting the chance to improve her skills.”
That was the excuse he used to get Gyomei to accept.
But jokes aside, he also wants what's best for the girl and he believes that transferring is a great choice.
Can't deny that he will miss the girl, that is if she accepts the proposal.
He already talked about it with the Captain of the Third Division, and Mina Ashiro would be delighted to have a new member for her team.
“....You know what? Maybe I should abort this plan of mine and keep her here. I would miss the sunshine girl and Soshiro might not appreciate her.”
He thought, fuming dramatically. “That man doesn't know when to take a break.” He thought, remembering the times how the younger male constantly trained to try to keep up with him.
“If Soshiro doesn't want her then I'll marry her instead. Marry first then fall in love later kind of thing, lol.” He thought in amusement.
Also, there's another reason why he's setting these two up.
He overheard her conversation with the other female officers and they talked about their reasons for joining the force.
In which [Name] admitted shyly that she only joined to look for a man to marry her and love her for the rest of her life.
When he first heard that his brother popped into his mind and thus, his matchmaking schemes began to form.
After all, both Kanroji and his younger brother are both in the appropriate age for marriage, and if they do get married then that means more teasing material for him to use against Soshiro.
Soichiro grins to himself before clearing his throat, catching the female's attention.
“Kanroji-san?”
[Name] slightly jumps in her seat, caught off guard as she was lost in her own head while doing her work, she turns to look at where Soichiro was sitting—who was looking at her with a closed-eyed smile.
Her green eyes sparkled as she looked at him, “Hai! Is there something you need, Hoshina taichou?” She asked, as a soft blush—barely noticeable was dusting on her cheeks. Smiling brightly towards the male.
“Ah, Hoshina taichou looks amazing as ever! His long white hair looks so silky and shiny, I wonder what hair products he uses to maintain it?” She thought, squealing internally as she admired the male in front of her.
Soichiro had to squint his eyes—they're already squinted enough as it is, ahem.
“So bright.” He thought in amusement before clearing his throat, “Kanroji-san, I would like to talk to you about something,” He pauses, taking a deep breath before looking at the girl once more, “I've been meaning to ask you about this for some time now but I couldn't find a time to speak to you about this in private.” He says with a grin, chuckling in amusement as he sees the red on the girl's cheeks seems to darken.
“Wa-wa-wait!! Eh?? Eh?? What's happening, is this a confession?!” She thought, screaming inside her head.
[Name] clears her throat, attempting to calm herself down as she looks at the Captain, “What is it, Hoshina taichou?” She asked him.
Soichiro chuckles softly, “I have received numerous suggestions that I should transfer you to a more suitable Division, Kanroji-san. A Division that can possibly help you improve with your skills for the blade.” He says, “To be more specific, a transfer to the Third Division. They needed more help from someone who specializes in close combat.”
“But then again, I don't think she needs more help with the weapon... She's already a master in using it.” He thought, remembering the girl's whip-like sword and how effortlessly she uses it without harming herself.
[Name]'s eyes widened, “The Third Division...?” She asked softly, eyes dotted and blinking as she tilted her head slightly, “Would you be fine if I transfer, taichou? What about my platoon?” She asked worriedly and Soichiro chuckled.
“Of course, although we will miss you greatly but we still recommend you in taking this offer. About your platoon, Gyomei and I will handle them, don't worry.” He says with a grin.
[Name] looks down to her lap, thinking deeply before looking up again to look at the male with a determined look, “Then if taichou recommends it, then I shall accept it!” She beams with a smile and Soichiro gives her a thumbs up.
“Then it's settled, you'll be transferring there next week.”
