The items on a sliver tray clanked together as Eden waited impatiently outside the medic Errol's quarters, the wind began to churn against the windows, the sky from Eden's view went from deep blue to black in seconds. Her breath quickened as the wind continued to roar, her hands tightened around the tray.

The doors pushed open, Errol exited straightening his circular framed glasses. He smacked his lips together and clasped his wrinkled pale hands in front of himself. "I am finished, it's a miracle no major organs were hit. He is ready for you, My Lady."

Eden brushed past the medic, the items on the tray rattling fiercely as she moved. Lucien laid flat on a wooden cot with a white sheet covering him up to his chest, only his arms exposed and free by his sides. Candles lit the room, the medic made a comment on how dim lighting will ease Lucien's suffering, however Eden seemed to not hear him, placing the tray down on a short table next to the cot. Eden poured a red liquid into a teacup and plucked it up from the tray with a quickness.

Lucien's eyes squeezed open, his lips parting letting out a heavy breath. His eyes looked over to Eden and then fluttered down to the teacup she was holding in front of him. "Have you come to poison me?" Lucien forced out the question; he lightly patted his lips together, moistening his dry mouth. Eden let out a small gasp, not expecting words out of him so soon.

"No, it's medicine." Eden said in a serious tone, lowering down the teacup to reveal its berry red colour. Lucien's mouth twisted in disgust.

"So, you are poisoning me."

"Do not be a baby, Lucien."

Lucien frowned with his eyes, but ultimately parted his lips, allowing Eden to bring the teacup to them, Lucien swallowed fast in attempt to escape its sour taste with no luck, the foul sour medicine took hostage of his tastebuds anyway. "You are such a fool." Eden said, setting aside the teacup.

"That's not very nice." The words slurred from Lucien's mouth, his eyes heavy. "I'm on my deathbed, Eden."

"Yes, on your deathbed a fool, what were you thinking?" She asked, her words sharp but her eyes filled with compassion.

Lucien lifted his eyes up to meet hers, slowly blinking. "I wasn't thinking at all, I just- I saw him, and I thought he was going to harm you."

"He wasn't going to do anything." Eden swore.

Lucien shut his eyes, taking a deep breath in. "They get away?"

"I think so."

"Maybe it's for the better." Lucien closed his eyes, feeling her presence still close by he said, "what time is it? You should be in your room."

Eden pulled a chair and placed it beside the cot. "I think I'll stay." She said, sitting back in the chair with one leg crossed over the other.

"Are you my guard now?" He asked weakly, his eyes growing heavier as he forced them to stay open.

"Until you're better, yes."

"I'm not sure I can sleep if you're staring at me." He gave a weak wryly grin.

"Oh," her eyes widened, "I'll turn around then." She got up, and pushed her chair around, sending a loud shrieking noise through the room. She plopped down on it once more and gently asked him. "That better?"
