(This is 2 years after the series ends, Mr. Frog is the president and accidentally started a nuclear war)
This was it. Pim and Charlie sat in shock as the news reporter said that there was now a huge nuclear bomb coming their way. It would destroy not only Pennsylvania, but the entire north and south American continent in 12 hours.
Pim stared in despair at the TV. "This isn't happening, right Charlie?" Pim asked Charlie, almost begging for this not to be the case. Charlie gulped, looking at Pim. "Nah man, this is actually real. We're going to die, dude."
Pim couldn't handle this. He began to cry. He was going to die, and there was nothing he could do. Charlie also started to tear up as well, eventually sobbing along with Pim. Their lives were over, and they wouldn't make it to anywhere else.
Pim tried to get a flight somewhere, anywhere to survive. All the flights were fully booked, and there was nothing. Their fate was sealed. Pim gave a head shake to Charlie, signifying it was over for them.
Charlie and Pim were on the couch again, 11 hours until their untimely deaths. After crying and pleading with the airlines and busses, they just sat there and stared at the news. Pim and Charlie held each other, something that friends of 9 years would totally do, watching the news scramble and call their loved ones to say goodbye.
10 hours until their death now. "It won't be long now Charlie." Pim mumbled, staring at nothing. Charlie nodded, his hope gone also. "Glep, Alan, and the boss are gone. I couldn't reach them. They must've gotten onto a flight." Charlie spoke. Pim nodded silently. "Just us then?" Pim looked up at Charlie. "Just us, man." Charlie replied, holding Pim closer.
9 hours until their deaths, they walked around the abandoned streets. "Remember the Salty's? That's the one." Charlie pointed at the building, the smashed glass still there after all this time. Pim smiled a bit. "Yeah. That was pretty crazy." Charlie looked down at Pim, as Pim looked back. "Charlie?" Charlie held pims hand. "Oh." Pim said softly, accepting the gesture. They walked through the streets for a long time, reminiscing.
8 hours. They sat in the empty café that Jennifer worked at, mug rings all over the table. They sat in silence, Charlie fiddling with his hat. "This is really it then." Pim said, looking out the window. Charlie looked up at him. "Yeah Pim. It's uh.. it's over for us." Pim nodded. Charlie felt terrible, knowing that they would die without Charlie confessing his love for the other. A shock to no one, after you've known each other for 9 years, it's not really a friendship at that point. Well, just for Charlie. Charlie loved Pim. He did, he would scream it at the top of the mountains. He loved his best friend in a gay way. Admist Charlie's thoughts, he spotted alcohol over the counter. "Hey pim." Pim looked up at Charlie. "Yes?" Charlie pointed to over the counter. "There's some alcohol over there. Want to drink it?" Pim smiled a bit, warming Charlie's heart from the cold of his own doom. "That's stealing, Charlie.." Pim trailed off, but smirking at Charlie. "But, I suppose nothings stealing today." Charlie smiled and went to the minibar with Pim, drinking the various liquors there. Some were very expensive, some were crappy wines. They spoke about their lives, more than they ever had before. They both even found some nail polish in another store, tipsily painting their nails yellow and pink.
7 hours now. They sat on the couch again, after having fun in the town. They even stole pretty little suits, to look at least nice when they'd die. "You look beautiful, pim." Charlie said. Pim blushed, "what?" He blurted. Charlie didn't care anymore. "You look beautiful." He said again, gazing at Pim lovingly. If they were going to die, fine. But he couldn't go without telling Pim how he felt, regardless of regardless of rejection or acceptance. Charlie continued. "I love you, man. I've loved you for a while now, and I'll never stop." He looked to the side for a second. "I know I'm such a coward for not telling you earlier. But I love you, Pim. And if we die I want you to know that I'm yours. If you would let me, would you want to be mine for the next 6 hours and.. 2 minutes?" Charlie slightly smiled. Pim smiled back and nodded, embracing Charlie in his shaky arms.
They stayed like that for 2 hours, happily being a new couple. But slowly, the idea of their deaths crept back into their minds.
4 hours. Charlie and Pim watch the movies running at the cinema, holding and kissing each other the whole time. They looked like a teenage couple madly in love, but then again, they had to fit a lifetime of love in just 4 hours. Their suits were still pristine, even after a popcorn fight.
3. Charlie and Pim go to the art gallery, looking at the art that hasn't already been stolen. Pim has another breakdown.
2. They cry in each other's arms again.
1. They can see the sky make way for the bomb, as they sit in a field. The tall grass around them calms them both. "My love." Pim says, as Charlie looks at him. "Yeah babe?" Pim looks at the sunset, just starting to begin. "No offense, but.. if you end up in hell and I don't, I'll spend the rest of time looking for you. I.. I want you to know that." Charlie smiled, gripping Pim's hand tighter. "And I'd spend, like, way more." Pim smiled a bit, scoffing. "We can both look for each other. How's that?" Charlie nodded. "I'd like that."
5. "Charlie."
4. "Yeah, babe?"
3. "Will you marry me?"
2. Charlie looked at Pim. It was starting to get hot all around them. Too hot.
1. "Yeah."
0.
"I love you."
