In the early morning of the 31st of October, The group of young adults. Damon, Alicia, Susan, Stan, Lily, Chris, Terry and Amber gather at the newly rented apartment for their house party. They usually have this get-together every last Friday of the month. They thought it'd make more sense to make it a little more than spicy.
Everyone already agreed they would meet up for a proper discussion by noon. They also had an agreement, the first male and female to reach the house gets the gift and the honor of being the matron for the night. Luckily enough for Terry and Lily, they were the first to emerge. They passed the group test.
Chris and Alicia just walked into the apartment, they stared at the duo in perfect admiration wondering why they made it such a big deal to be there first. Alicia asked, "I'm guessing you guys didn't understand the word noon sharp right? You probably got here by 6 am I'm sure. What the heck?"
Lily replied, "Nope just a few minutes ago. I thought everyone would be in the house. I don't understand why today feels weird. Normally everyone would be here by now, already eating or drinking but I felt heavy after I woke up today. Even Terry had to drag me out."
Chris chipped in, "I thought it was just me, I told Alicia the same thing. I had a dream, we were on a field and we were trying to get something to escape another entity we couldn't see. It was so scary, I nearly dropped myself to the ground when I woke up."
Terry asked, "Did the landscape look like it was a forgotten forest? I saw myself walking on one alone, I didn't see anyone there. Just blood."
The four of them stayed quiet after his last words. Just blood?
They remained calm looking at each other in mysterious reasoning, suddenly the door opened. It was Damon, Stan and Susan. The trio walked in. They looked like they went on a shopping spree, they dropped all they bought on the table.
"You guys haven't started anything yet? What's wrong?" Damon asked.
Susan replied, "They had the same dream experience equated to the sleep paralysis I had."
They turned to her in shock, they'd heard of it but never experienced it before. It was too serious to ask of. Again the strange silence hit, and a strange wind blew through the window making her remember the curtain experience she had that morning before they drove there.
Her eyes blinked fast, it felt like she had seen a shadow walk past. She moved back, and Stan held her from behind showing support. "Sit Susan, you need to reat a little." Yes, they were dating.
She sat on the couch, Chris yelled out, "You guys, did you order a game?! Did anyone order anything like a board game?"
Damon and Lily ran to see it, it was only Chess and Scrabble. Nothing too mysterious, they expected a horror-themed board game. Damon answered, "Nah, not this. This is too simple. What about that store I saw? We could get there."
A knock hits the door, the room goes significantly quiet. It hits again. Stan walked up to the door, he asked "Who's there." as he opened it up. Funny enough, no one was. It was just the air blowing right into his face, he looked at the staircase leading to the ground. He glanced around.
Susan asked, "Who is it?"
"No one, just the wind. That's a really fast knock for the wind. I think something's wrong with this apartment." He said.
Damon walked up to him, "Who was it?"
Susan replied, "No one just the wind."
Alicia said, "That doesn't make any sense. I think there's something wrong with this apartment. Even with this day, I've been feeling heavy."
Damon replied, "Listen, let's just go out and get some fresh air. We'll come back after for the midnight games, let's walk around the town. Let's look at our outfits and our games. I'm sure by then this feeling would be out of our bodies."
Terry and Lily didn't understand why he was giving the orders. Terry said, "Damon I believe we are now the merchants of the room. You could continue after today, dude."
He replied, "Oh right, till. Tomorrow then but seriously give us ideas. We need to ease this tension."
Lily said, "I found a store yesterday. I wanted to be ahead with my schedule and I discovered an old store around here. We could check it for games and outfits."
They all agreed to leave the apartment. They drove out in the cars, they moved in fours but forgot one person wasn't there. Amber. They reached the store, and they asked by the side of it. Lily hopped out first, and she walked up to the door. It had a symbol on it.
They all saw the symbol, it didn't look normal. The owner of the store was probably a witch or a magician, either way, it wasn't a person they wanted to toy with. Lily opened the door, she greeted, "Hey Good afternoon. I wanted to check if you've got…" She stopped talking.
They were shocked by what they saw, it was a skeleton sitting on the chair with a cowboy hat on it's head. A voice spoke, "Go on. I can hear you."
Shivers moved through the bodies of the crew, they turned to the right and saw the woman standing there. They thought the skeleton spoke, they were beyond relieved. She had a long black gown on with her hair covered in a black turban. She smiled at them, it was so weird. She asked, "What do you need?"
Lily continued talking, "So here's the thing, I and my friends are planning a midnight get-together party and we decided to make horror-themed. I thought of coming here with them because I figured out this store looked like it. We are looking for outfits and games to play. All must be horror-themed."
