The three Lans reached the entrance patio which was now swarming with colours and raised flags as many more neared from the entrance aswell.
Aside from the four main sects present, a few minor sects had arrived as well as this lectures had become open to the smaller sects as well in recent years.
Before they could do anything, Jingyi felt wind gushing past him and looked back to see his cousin being lifted into the air and squished by a boy in Wen Sect Robes.
He looked at Sizhui, who looked just as surprised by the interaction, before looking back at his brother, both silently asking the other what was happening.
The Wen boy wore white robes with red flames on the sleeves, by how big the flames were covering most of his sleeves in the blazing red, it was easy to tell he was a direct hier of the main clan.
The boy was the one Ruxue had mentioned prior, Wen Yuan, Wen YueXuan, QingFang-Jun*. He was the nephew of the current Wen sect leader who had raised him, very similarly to how her own uncle raised her and her brother in the past.
"Ruxue!" he called gleefully swaying the girl around in his arms where he hugged her tightly by the waist and lifted her off the ground. She remained still without a single emotion on her face as he did so, seeming rather used to it.
Her father, the sect leader, approached the ruckus, in the mean time he put her down after trying to squeeze the life out of her for a good two minutes.
"You traitor!" He accused in the same volume as previously, alerting every Lan in the vaccinity and making many more cultivators face them.
"You can't just ghost us like that and go into seclusion" he scolded before someone tugged him by the ear.
"Wen YueXuan!" A commanding female voice roared from the woman who dragged the 21 year old boy away from his friend, the said boy cowering and continously mumbling, 'ow, ow, ow.." as he tried to push her away.
The woman was Wen Qing, Courtesy ZhiYi, sect leadet Wen, Xīnfú Fūrén*.
"Aah.. Sect leader Wen, it is fine, that is how they interact", the girl's father pleaded awkwardly trying to calm the scene as more people started talking and watching the scene unfold.
'Hmph' she let out, begrudgingly letting go of the boy's ear, which perked out, shining a bright red which almost matched his robes.
"Where is Zizhen? We agreed to come scold you together" the Wen boy spoke as though nothing had happened looking around the area as he rubbed his abused ear. His actions earning him a giggle from someone who aproached. They all turned to see the Nies aproaching.
"Sect Leader Nie" Wen Zhiyi greeted and the man and nodded in response. The two sects were neighbours and had been in good terms for the first time in centuries, everyone loved seeing the exchange, as it meant peace was very much alive, despite the simple act of acceptance, rather than friendship - trauma still lived in their hearts.
The one who'd giggled was the famous sect hier, Nie Lei, Courtesy Yuèrú. The girl held a light smile on her lips, not bothering to hide it at all. Her brother, who stood just a few steps behind her, was different with a fan covering the lower half of his face from where he stood, eyes observant, but not showing any clear emotions as he lightly fanned himself like his father did.
Seeing this as an opportunity to clear the attention they got, Sizhui took the initiative to greet the twins.
" 'The moonlit ocean, the gentle breeze'*, truly a pleasure to finally meet the two" he said bowing, and his uncle smiled at this. Jingyi was quick to follow and bow as well.
