Chapter 3

As horrifying as Luz thought it would be, flying thousands of feet above ground was actually pretty soothing. The beautiful scenery of the Boiling Isles made Luz calm and drowsy. She almost forgot why she was even flying until the distant outline of the Emperor's castle could be seen. Everything rushed back into Luz's mind. She remembered about the invisibility glyphs and was ready to use them. Luz took a deep breath and then she disappeared out of sight.

Hunter was half expecting Luz to actually come. He was still in great shock after reading the secret files about The Day of Unity and was in deep thought. Hunter was right about to walk to his window, when he heard a gust of wind followed by a loud crash right in his room. Hunter was so close to scream, but kept himself calm. Luz was now visibly catching her breath. "I am surprised you actually came, I was thinking that Flapjack would come by himself," said Hunter. "I mean your letter was too intriguing to not come." "Oh yeah, when did get your palismen?, I mean I thought you very against 'Wild Magic'." replied Luz "Funny story actually, Flapjack came to me and also we don't have time to talk about my life because something going to happen soon that will change the entire fate of Boiling Isles.", said Hunter with a worrying voice. "Woah, slow down there, tell me from the beginning and don't leave out a single detail.", Luz said with an unsure tone.

"Everyone in the Emperor's Coven is talking about the Day of Unity, but they don't know what will happen then. Lucky for me I got access to some confidential files about Belos's master plan, and turns out, he isn't on anyone's side. What I mean is Belos's end goal isn't to wipe wild witches, he wants to wipe every single witch in the Boiling Isles by the end of The Unity. All of it was a lie, we aren't uniting with the Titan as we thought, but we are all going to join him in the afterlife by death.", finished Hunter.

Luz had to give to Hunter, troubling as it sounded, the message was clear and concise for Luz to understand, if Belos succeeds, all witches on the Boiling Isles will soon be no more. "Okay but how is Belos going to achieve all of this? I mean Belos is powerful, but can't possibly devise a foolproof plan to kill everyone." said Luz. "That's true, but you aren't seeing the bigger picture. Belos has been living in the Demon Realm for Titan knows how long, I mean  there's has been at least 10 golden guards before and the coven system is particularly new anyway, and during all that time he has crafted and executed his malicious plan, and I am sure he won't let anything stand his way after all his hard work." explained Hunter. "Yeah, that makes sense, but how exactly can he kill everyone at the same time.", questioned Luz. "For Belos nothing is impossible, you see, on the Day of Unity Belos is going to cast a draining spell. I said the coven system before, right, everyone in a coven with a sigil will be drained of all their magic and since magic is the source of power for witches, they will subsequently die. Even if some survive from the initial effect of the spell, they will be too weak and won't last very long. If you are asking how Belos achieved this spell, Well Below had been experimenting on Basilisks for a long time by imprisoning mass amounts of them, specifically on their ability to drain magic from organisms.", said Hunter. That's when Luz realized who Vee was talking about when she mentioned a mysterious man behind all of the experiments. Luz couldn't believe she didn't realize before it was Belos, it made the most sense as he was the only person with no moral sense and vast amounts of power. "Oh come on, I had enough problems already and now Belos is to wipe out everyone of the Boiling Isles' ', groaned Luz. "Don't worry, I have my own problems to deal with. I mean, after finding out about Belos's true intentions

my entire reality fell apart and I don't know what is the right thing to do." replied Hunter. They were in silence for a long time until Hunter got an idea.

"How about I give you a tour of my room, since you are here," said Hunter. "Sure, that will take me off edge," replied Luz. "Okay, so my room has three rooms. The bedroom, the study and a bathroom. I have a shelf in the study where I store my books, papers and other stuff. That's all boring, but I have a secret room hiding in plain sight." explained Hunter. Hunter walked over to his shelf and casually pulled it open revealing a small hollow area. In the space there was a table and chair with lots of papers that had drawings on them. The moment Luz saw the pictures, she knew exactly what they were. "No way! I didn't know you could draw glyphs, I mean I have never seen you use them.", exclaimed Luz.

"Aww, you two look so cute, " said an unfamiliar voice.
