It was still dark as the new day began. Empty streets with just the ticking noise from the pedestrian lights, flickering. Convenient stores being the only opened at the hour. Walking along the sidewalk were two siblings, holding books and papers with school bags on their backs. The tall boy with messy silver hair yawns loudly, rubbing his deep blue tired eyes.
"So why are we doing this again? I'm not this much of a morning person at all." He said blinking his eyes awake, leaning onto his younger sister, using her as a mini walking cane.
"Because," the girl answers, pushing him off of her, "As the vice president of the student council, I need to give in these agreement papers for the new changes around the school and other stuff for the council's work today. It's a lot of work so I needed your help today."
He groans upset knowing he's missing the wonderful sleep he dearly enjoys. "Don't worry as promised, I'll get you that espresso crepe and coffee jelly you've wanted from that sweets shop you enjoy." The girl says rolling her sky blue eyes, chuckling to herself.
The boy hugs the girl tightly, lifting her and swinging her around in happiness. "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank youu Abby! You're the best little sister a guy can ever ask for!!"
The girl, fighting for her life, wiggles around for mercy, trying to break free from his grip.
"OK, OKK, LET ME GO! YOUR KILLING MEE!!"
He lets her go putting her down gently, allowing her to fix herself.
"Geez Alan you have an addiction to sweets. I'm more surprised you didn't have any cavities." Abby smirks as Alan becomes slightly annoyed, sarcastically replying, "Geez Abby you've been playing Kita's Love Begins so much I bet you know it word for word. Surprised you never went off in public showing your true self, screaming how much you love the game." Embarrassed by his words, the girl attempts to hit him, missing every shot.
"Kita's Love Begins is an AMAZING game! How dare you insult me with it!" She says still trying to hit him.
Alan catches her punch, holding her fist smiling at the fact she missed. "You do know you're gonna be late with these papers if you keep trying to hit me, right?"
He begins to giggle as Abby snatches her hand back and angrily walks faster, still embarrassed.
Both waiting at the pedestrian light. While waiting, Alan pats Abby's head for comfort even though she pushes his hand away, still angry, and begins to fix her "perfect" sliver straight hair. However, this unbothers him as he loves getting back at his sister.
As the light finally changes Abby storms off ahead. But as if time slowed down. A car turned at what seemed like lightning speed, charging toward Abby while she was still walking.
With Alan's peripheral vision, he rushes to his sister, pushing her out of the way. In a success, next to him was the same car only moments away from hitting him. With Abby barely turning back at her brother, a blur of his life flashed before his eyes. With only a soft smile left on his face knowing his sister was safe. The last smile she saw from her brother...
With a blurry vision of what was happening with the muffled sounds of Abby screaming, Alan saw most of the blood on his body and saw more around him. And a less visible scene of the car that seemed to have crashed into the pole where the pedestrian light once was. With his vision becoming less colorful, his eyes begin to close, with the lingering sound of his sister screaming his name. And the last feeling of his sister's touch, squeezing tightly as his breath was no longer.
.
.
.
Alan's eyes begin to flutter open with a bright light.
