August 11th 2022 Paige
Caroline dropped me off at the gym because I wanted to be here alone.
The season hasn't even started yet and I can't imagine not playing with the team.
I leave my crutches on the bench before hopping over and grabbing a ball. I dribble it as I position to take a shot and when I throw the ball I completely miss it. I limp over and grab the ball again before shooting it again, and again, and again and every time I miss again.
"God!" I yell throwing the ball across the gym and it hits a chair causing it to fall down

I'm in the gym hallways walking to get my camera that I left in the locker room when I suddenly hear a yell and a loud bang coming from the gym.
I walk closer to the gym door and when I look inside I see Paige who's looking up at the ceiling with her hands over her eyes.
I sigh before slowly walking into the gym and when she hears the sound of the door closing behind me her eyes meet mine.
"Are you okay" I ask walking closer to her and she instantly looks away from me
"I don't want to talk about it" she says as we become face to face
"Do you not want to talk about it or you don't want to talk to me?" I ask her and I can tell the question throws her off a bit
"Olivia I'm not doing this right now" She tells me and I roll my eyes at the use of my full name. No one on the team has ever called me by my full name especially her.
"This obviously needs to be done because you've been ignoring and avoiding me" I say running my hands through my hair
"Can you just give me space?" She ask
"Can't you see I've been doing that for the past eleven days Paige. Eleven days I haven't talked to you and I've barely seen you." I pause trying to figure out what to say next "I get that you're hurting but let me be there for you"
She looks at me as if she's trying to find the next words she should use and I just sigh when she doesn't speak
"I'm over this" I shrug feeling tears coming. I turn away from her and leave the gym just as quickly as I entered.
when I walk out the door I almost dump into someone and when I look up I see Azzi.
"Liv what's wrong?" She ask seeing the look on my face
"I can't do this right now Azzi" i say wiping my face and she looks behind me into the gym to see Paige "I've got to go"
I quickly leave and head straight to the teams apartment.
Most of the team is gone for summer to spend time with their families, they left over the past few days even though no one really wanted to leave when Paige was injured.
Caroline, Amari, Aubrey and Azzi are still here. Azzi is supposed to be leaving on a family trip in the next two days but Caroline, Amari and Aubrey are here to stay for the rest of summer.
I go to the girls apartment and go straight to Caroline's room like I've been doing for the last eleven days.
I tell myself I don't know why I'm staying here but deep down I know it's because of Paige. If I can't be with her and there for her I might as well do it from afar.
When I enter Caroline's room she laying on her bed with a bowl of popcorn watching a Disney movie. When she sees me she gives me a sad frown before motioning for me to join her on the bed.
Paige
Right when Liv exited the gym someone else enters and I groan knowing I'm not getting the alone time I wanted.
I look over and see Azzi walking towards me so I sigh knowing what's coming as I limp over to the benches and sit down
She comes over and sits beside me without saying anything.
We sit in silence for a good five minutes before she gives in and look at me
"Why are you doing this to her?" She finally ask and I let out a sigh before shrugging "Paige that's not a reasonable answer"
"I don't know" I shrug "I really like her but I don't want her to be around me when I'm like this"
"Paige if anyone knows what it's like to have a season ending injury it's liv" Azzi tells me and I cover my face feeling guilty that I forgot Liv had an injury that ended her career
"I fucked up" I say looking over at her and she nods "do you know where she would go? If she went to her dorm or not"
"She's most likely at our place she's been staying there to keep an eye on you" Azzi confesses and I start to feel worse about this situation as I think about it more
"Please don't tell me she's the one that brought me that gift a few days ago" when she doesn't respond I have my answer "can you take me to the apartment?"
"Of course" she says finally smiling about the situation.
