Next Day
Izuku's Pov.
I woke up the next day and stretched. I walked out of the cabin to tell Sadie about her husband and that we should bury him. I found her upset with Mary Beth and Karen comforting her.
Izuku: Hey girls, Morning.
Mary: Morning to you too, Izuku.
Karen: Yeah, morning.
Tilly: Good morning, Izuku.
Sadie looked at me and nodded. I sighed before I asked.
Izuku: Excuse me, Sadie?
Sadie: Y-Yes?
Izuku: We never got to give your husband a proper burial and I am hoping you'll help.
She looked at me with surprise and nodded agreeing to it.
Sadie: Of course. He's... My husband. He would appreciate that and... So would I.
I nodded understanding her situation.
Izuku: Okay, you wanna go right now or do you wanna give some time?
Sadie: No. I... I waited long enough. 'sniffles' We can go right now.
Izuku: 'nodded' Yes, ma'am.
I walked out of the cabin with Ms Adler behind me. I whistled my horse and got on. I gave Sadie a hand to get on the horse and we rode to the ranch.
Minutes Later
Alder's Ranch
After a ride to the home, we got off my horse and gave Jake a proper burial. I dug a hole, made a cross that said 'Jake' on it and put him in there.
After I buried him, I gave her time to tell her thoughts about her husband. I searched the cabin and it was all gone except the wedding photo but it was a little burnt.
I walked back to the horse and waited for Sadie. I played a harmonica for a little while. She walked back to me and said.
Sadie: Thank you.
I smiled and shook my head.
Izuku: Don't worry about it. Just trying to help.
I got up on the horse and gave Sadie a hand. We rode back to the camp.
Izuku: Again, I'm really sorry for your loss. I know losing someone is hard especially when it's from an O'Driscoll.
Sadie: You do?
Izuku: My.... Mother. She raised me ever since when she and my father left Japan and came to America. He died when I was five. My mother had jobs but got accused of stealing or being a bad worker. She got judged for not being an American. She got a job as a waitress and it was going well or that's what I thought.
Sadie: What happened?
Izuku: 'sighs' Well, some bad people came to rob us. My mother told me to hide and she took care of it.
