Minnie enjoyed the tour, excited to see everything. She joined me and the gang at dinner.

"Mini Minnie." Amedeo snickers, pinching his fingers close together to mock her short stature.

"Ignore him, he's a dork." I whisper to Minnie who was scowling at his comment.

"Are you going to keep your name?" Meira asks her. "Minnie is very cute."

"I can change it?" She looks to me.

I nod. "I came here with my given human name, Katie, but if you like we can find a name that suits you and your lineage. Nathara means snake."

"Meira means flower." My friend smiles.

"My name means badass." Amedeo puffs up, flexing his arms.

"Doubtful." Minnie mutters and the rest of us laugh.

Percival nudges her softly. "I like you, you're smart." His compliment makes her grin.

"Harlow, there you are!" I greet my dragon that clumsily lands on the table with a note. "Looks like your room and schedule is ready." I pull open the note from Elide.

"What's it say?" Minnie says with a mouthful of food. She hasn't stopped eating since we got to the school.

"You get to go to some vampire classes and fairy classes." I say. "Why don't you go get some dessert and something for Charlie."

When she runs off hauling her fat friend, the group looks at me curiously.

"We did a lineage test earlier and the witches were weird about the results. Now I know why." I mumble, pulling out the separate note inside for me.

Amedeo sighs dramatically. "Well? Don't keep us waiting!"

"Minnie is related to Asena's family."

Everyone's jaws drop at the news.

"Her mom had an affair with a vampire?" Lorna blinks slowly. "Wish I could shove that in Kyree's face."

"Maybe she thought she could create a new powerful species." Meira thinks out loud.

I make sure Minnie is still getting food before saying, "No one mention it. Elide wants to talk to her about it himself."

"Her mom isn't in jail. Is she going to come after her?" Percival asks us all.

I shake my head firmly. "She was in an orphanage. Minnie is her dirty little secret. And if she does find out Minnie is here, she's not going to get her easily."

She was innocent. She didn't know her family were crazy pure blood revolutionaries. Hopefully we could hide her long enough to keep her good and innocent.

"They have chocolate cake!" Minnie returns happily. Charlie was trying to take some too.

"I think your buddy needs a diet." Amedeo teases. Charlie hisses at him, his joking smile turning into a surprised flinch back.

"It's mostly fur." Minnie frowns at Amedeo. "I brush him everyday so he's fluffy."

"He's just jealous because his familiar is a tortoise." Lorna scoffs, making Minnie smile with chocolate stained lips.

"Hey, babe." Larken welcomes me from his desk, freshly showered and shirtless.

"Guess what I found out today?" I immediately blurt out. I kick off my shoes by the door, peeling off my long sleeve shirt.

Larken looks away from his papers to eye me up and down. "You're a role model to supernatural kids?" He guesses, eyes locked on my chest.
