Charms had gone as well as expected. The teacher, Professor Ronen, was super eccentric. It made the practicing of the summoning charm a little less boring, but not entertaining enough that she could stop herself from stealing glances towards her favorite Slytherin. He was such a regal presence, sure he was the heir of Slytherin, but there had to be some solid royalty in there as well. He was so handsome when he practiced the spell- getting it perfect even though he couldn't even see the object he was working with.
Being distracted for half the lesson didn't really help her much as they started summoners court. It took her ages to get the ball to even move towards her, and when it did it was abysmal. There was no battle sense that kicked in here so she did just as poorly, if not much worse, than she did when she had played this part of the game for real. Natty always beat her when she had played before, and this time it was a landslide. Thankfully the Gryffindor girl was a good winner, and didn't even make her feel like the idiot that she was.
Jane was also thankful that Ronan didn't stray too much from his preset dialogue- there was no chastisement for her distracted lesson or poor performance. She did however notice Sebastian staring at her for a large part of her game. He was probably noticing how terribly she was doing again and wondering how she could have ever beaten him.
She stretched after the class ended. The day was only halfway done but she was exhausted. She was going to make her way towards the great hall so she could finally eat some food, when an owl came out of nowhere and dropped a letter on her head. She jumped in surprise, the letter dropping to the ground. In the game there were letters that were sent to the main character, but usually in the movies and books you only got mail when you were in the great hall.
"Main character defies magical physics," she said to herself as she picked up the fallen note.
It was from Professor Weasley- ah that's right, she was going to go to Hogsmead today. Jane looked up at the large clock on the wall- she was supposed to be there soon, but she really didn't want to miss another meal. She grumbled, mad at herself for not at least unlocking the floo flame in the great hall so she could get there faster.
She chose the story line though, and a little testily made her way towards the transfiguration classroom. When she got there her heart skipped a beat as she saw Deek for the first time. The little house elf popped away quickly, but it was still enough to get a good look. She wasn't sure what she was expecting, seeing one in person, but it was.... strange. Jane figured that she would get used to the little creatures, and tried to push the image of him away.
After completing another mini lesson with Professor Ronan (reparo going as abysmal as the others) Jane was given a decision as to who would take her to Hogsmead. To her surprise not only were Natty and Sebastian listed- but also Garreth. She was shocked to hear the change, but didn't think too much about it because she knew who she would choose. Out of all the times she had played she had literally never gone to Hogsmead with anyone other than Sebastian. She didn't even know how the game played out if she chose Natty.
When she made her choice, Professor Weasley said she would collect the boy and Jane should meet him at one of the main doors. She knew where it was, and she knew she would have a little bit of time. She was supposed to go and see Fig now she knew, but she was starving.
Quickly she made her way over to the great hall- lunch was over, but she would at least mark the floo on her map so she could get there faster. Then she made her way over to where the kitchens were. She loved going into the kitchens during the game, and she was excited to see it now, but there was an obstacle in her way- a cute one.
"Hello Jane!" a smiling Garreth greeted her as he walked towards her, blocking her path to the stairs that led to the Hufflepuff common room and kitchen.
