Now jinnie wants to share his relationship with Jin.
It was on a balmy evening, the air heavy with the scent of blooming jasmine, that Jinnie dropped a bombshell that would irrevocably alter the course of their lives. Sitting side by side on the wooden swing in their backyard, the fading sun painting the sky with hues of orange and purple, Jinnie turned towards Jin, a mischievous spark flickering in his eyes.
“Jin,” he began, his voice a conspiratorial whisper, “I have something to tell you.”
Jin, glancing at his brother with curiosity and a hint of concern, replied, “What is it? You’re scaring me. Are u sick?."
“Relax.” Jinnie chuckled softly. "I’m in a relationship."
Jin’s eyes widened. “You’re dating someone? Who? Oh my gosh! What the !!”
“With RM,” Jinnie continued with a proud grin plastered across his face.
“RM? As in—wait, RM? The brother of namjoon? The weirdos!!” Jin exclaimed, his excitement punctured by an underlying concern. "Is this a joke?"
“No joke, Jin. I’m serious.” Jinnie’s expression grew earnest. “I love him.”
As the weight of Jinnie’s declaration settled in, Jin couldn’t help but feel an unease creeping through him. “And you’re sure he’s good for you?”
“Of course! He’s wonderful! You’ll love him!”
“Right…” Jin mumbled, a gnawing sense of confusion! “But Jinnie, you don’t really know him. Have you met his friends? What about his past?”
“ I know him.. right ! Not completely..but yes I do!,” Jinnie defended, his loyalty to RM shining brightly. “But you’re just going to have to trust me.”
“Jinnie, you can’t just ignore things.”
Jinnie leaned forward, whispering urgently, “There’s more. You have to promise you won’t freak out.”
Jin's stomach dropped. “What do you mean?”
“He…he’s a vampire,” Jinnie finished, his eyes scanning Jin’s face for acceptance.
A heavy silence enveloped them, punctuated only by the rustling leaves in the gentle breeze. “A vampire?” Jin echoed, the edges of disbelief sharp in his tone. “You can’t seriously expect me to believe that, Jinnie. That sounds like something out of a cheap horror novel! Yeah, I believe in these creatures, but !"
“It’s true!” Jinnie insisted, his voice rising in frustration. “I saw him transform! I know how it sounds, but he’s real, Jin. And he’s not like any of those monsters you read about , u expect !He’s kind and gentle. He’s not like the others.”
Slowly, Jin’s mind shifted like the gears of an old clock, ticking from disbelief to a hazy understanding of his brother’s feelings. “Okay, let’s say I believe you. What do we do with this…situation?”
Jinnie’s gaze softened, desperation clinging to his words. “I want you to accept him. I want you to trust me. He’s important to me, Jin. Please. I can’t lose him simply because he’s different.”
That plea cut into all the layers of Jin’s protective instincts. “Jinnie, he's a vampire! What if he—”
“I said he’s different! He doesn’t want to hurt anyone!” Jinnie interrupted, his voice thick with emotion. “He’s just like us, but with a different nature. Just because someone is different doesn’t mean they’re a monster!”
Jin sighed deeply, turmoil curling in the corners of his mind. “You know they used to tell us tales of vampires draining the lifeblood of their lovers? What if—”
“Enough!” Jinnie interjected, hurt flashing in his eyes. “You’re thinking like everyone else. Why can’t you just see him as a person? The person who makes me happy?”
The night deepened, wrapping the world around them in a blanket of stars, and Jin's heart felt heavy as though tethered to the ground with iron chains. “I just—”
“Please, promise me you’ll meet him first,” Jinnie interrupted, retaining a glimmer of hope in his voice. “Not as a vampire, but as RM, the person I care about. Give him a chance. Just one.”
After a long pause, Jin finally nodded, though uncertainty knotted his insides. “Alright. But if he does anything suspicious…”
“Then I’ll walk away,” Jinnie promised, sealing their accord with a silent agreement. They would meet tomorrow.
The next evening, the twins stood in their quiet backyard, Jinnie’s heart racing with anticipation while Jin remained cautious. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the scene. He heard footsteps before he saw him.
RM appeared at the edge of the garden, casually leaning against the wooden fence, his posture relaxed, his gaze steady along with his brother.Jinnie’s face brightened; he ran toward RM, pulling him into an embrace. Jin couldn’t shake off the weight of reluctance that pressed against his chest, but he willed himself to observe ,he just took a glance at namjoon before shifting his glance toward jinnie.. after a long time he saw him this much happy.
“Jin, this is RM,” Jinnie introduced, his voice bubbling with happiness.
“Hello! We met many times but as a professor and students!” RM greeted, his voice deep yet calm, not a hint of darkness hanging around him. His eyes caught the moonlight, glimmering with an otherworldly brilliance.
“Hey,” Jin managed, searching for the monster he had imagined lurking beneath his brother's joy. Instead, all he saw was a man, undeniably unique with an aura that hinted at ancient wisdom.
“Thank you for agreeing to meet,” RM said, extending a hand. Jin hesitated before shaking it. A faint warmth surged through his fingertips, a connection he hadn’t anticipated.
“Jinnie deserves someone who takes care of him,” RM continued, his voice unwavering. “I vow to protect your brother. He’s cherished.”
As Jin watched the tenderness that flowed between them, he felt a shift in his heart—a slow unraveling of the walls he had built around his brother’s happiness. He saw, in RM, not the monster from children's tales, but a being of complexity and grace.
“Okay,” Jin spoke slowly, finding his voice amidst the silent acceptance. “I may not understand everything, but if he makes you happy, then… I’ll try.”
A breathtaking smile broke on Jinnie’s face, and in that moment, amidst the moonlight and jasmine, Jin realized that family, love, and acceptance could transcend even the boundaries of the most mythical fears. In the entwined destinies of a boy and a vampire, perhaps—just perhaps—there was space for something beautiful to flourish, unfazed by the darkness that once seemed so imposing.
" So let's order some pizza! Your favourite one!" Rm looked at jinnie's agreement.
" But he doesn't like the smell of cheese? " Namjoon interrupted out of nowhere!
"How did you know that? R u two already together" jinnie liked to make a joke!
" What nonsense! Can't keep your mouth shut?" Jin just shouted.. he's mad ofcourse.
