Virat quietly looked over the dining table and watched as Rohit's veins on his neck moved with every bite he took. He gulped secretly, his thoughts becoming so strong that he couldn't get a proper hold of them. He had never imagined that he had to see such a day, where the boy whom he crushed over will be sitting opposite to him every morning at breakfast.
He looked aside and his eyes flew to the kitchen, where he caught his mom and his step-dad shared a kiss which they thought was stolen. Virat scrunched his face disgusted, but couldn't deny much about his fantasies.
Those days were unbelievable. When he just got ranked up to the senior section of the college and his whole body danced at the thought of meeting or at least stalking The Rohit Sharma at the hallways and classrooms. But when he actually tried to do so, he realised that it was more than difficult. Rohit Sharma was not his crush alone, but hundreds and thousands of girls and boys except him, drooled over him. His friend group is also quite famous, not really the bad boy types but the handsome types.
When he heard his mom was going to marry Rohit's dad, his happiness burst out at the thought of the unpredictable privilege. He could see Rohit all day? That was incredible. But when he put some thoughts, he realised they'd become step brothers, which would eventually make things harder than it already was.
Virat was never the extrovert, nor the introvert. He himself has his own circle of friends consisting of Hardik, Ishan and Siraj. They were together since childhood and maybe that's what is called a good childhood bond.
Returning to the present, Virat dived back into the cereals on his bowl, drifting away his attention from the most wanted boy in college.
They both finished, and Rohit picked up his bag on his shoulders and started walking towards the main door while whistling a tune and spinning the car keys in his index finger. Virat looked at him from afar and thought, how happy is he?
Virat sighed, as he took his own bag with himself, but his mom's voice stopped him and Rohit, both.
"Rohit!"
She shouted from the kitchen as Rohit spun on his heels,
"What is it?"
His voice was not rude, but firm.
"Could you please offer Virat a lift to school?"
Rohit raised an eyebrow as Virat's eyes widened,
"Mom! Hardik comes to pick me up everyday!"
Virat's voice was slightly raised, his cheeks already a little red at the thought of having a car drive with Rohit.
"I know sweetie, but he phoned me up earlier when he couldn't get you on the line. I forgot to tell you, but he's going somewhere today, so he told me to tell you to manage."
Virat stood still for one good minute. Rohit clicked his tongue. How could he forget that his dear friend Rahul, was taking hardik to their first date by dropping school? How forgetful he is.
"I-It's fine, I can manage."
Virat blabbered, what if Rohit doesn't like the idea of taking him? He doesn't wanna force and make the scene all uncomfortable and awkward.
"But-"
His mom was interrupted by none other but the young Sharma,
"If you don't want then I'll leave right away. Your choice."
Virat's heart rate fastened. Should he accept it? Or should he just wait for the bus? And then, he could hear the soft clanking on the windows. Wow, now it's raining. He doesn't have any other options.
