The soft scent of jasmine fills Jeongguk's nose as he inhales deeply. As the omega carefully runs his finger through the vampire's hair, the vampire sighs and closes his eyes.

"I really love your scent, you know?" Jeongguk whispers as he opens his eyes to see the omega smiling lovingly down at him as he lays his head on the omega's lap. "Is that so?" He hears the omega's deep voice, and he nods earnestly. " Yes. Ever since I smelled it for the first time on the evening of our wedding, I have liked it. It always comforts me; it makes me feel like I'm finally home," the vampire says softly, looking at the omega. "And you have no scent at all, so I don't get to feel that," quips Taehyung jokingly, rolling his eyes. Rolling onto his stomach, Jeongguk puts his hands over Taehyung's lap and rests his head on it. "Sometimes I wish I had one too, you know? If I had a scent, trust me, I would've scented you so much that people miles away could smell my scent on you," the vampire says dreamily, and Taehyung giggles, the sound of which he finds most pleasing. The omega stops and raises an eyebrow when he notices Jeongguk giving him a very intense stare. "What?"

"Nothing; I just like looking at you; my heart feels at peace; all the chaos inside my mind stops when I look at you," mutters the vampire raspily, and Taehyung smiles. "Well, keep looking while you can, I guess," he says quietly, and Jeongguk frowns, sitting up. "Why?" he asks, confused, and suddenly he observes the omega beginning to fade slightly. "Because I am not here, Jeonha. I exist only in your imaginations," Taehyung mutters softly. Jeongguk tries to hold on to the omega but is unable to do so; it feels as though he is grasping air. Panic sets in, his heart pounding with fear. "Jungjeon, what is happening? You're..you're fading away." Jeongguk chokes up with fear. He notices the sadness on the omega's face. "You killed me, Jeonha; you killed me with your own hands," the omega whispers before he vanishes completely into thin air.

"Jungjeon!" The vampire screams as he awakens, his body trembling with fear and his heart racing in his chest. Jeongguk looks around to see his chamber and regains his composure. He holds his head, breathing rapidly, as his head throbs with pain. The vampire peers around at the mess he's in, sticking out his tongue to moisten his lips. Broken glass, shattered mirror pieces, broken furniture, torn clothing, and empty alcohol bottles were scattered throughout the space. Sighing, he tries to stand up but recoils as one of the glass shards pierces his palms, forcing him to sit back down on the ground and lean against the wall. He sighs with relief after somehow managing to remove the piece of glass. How many days have it been since he locked himself up? He wondered. The vampire looks out and observes that it is night. He wasn't sure of the time. Heavens, he's so thirsty and hungry, but his body feels so weak that he just can't seem to wake up. Jeongguk reaches for the bottle of alcohol that was lying close to his feet, checks to see if any is left, and drinks the rest of it to quench his thirst. The vampire tosses it aside once more, leaning against the wall and gazing at the floor with empty eyes. His eyes start to droop once more. But the sound of heavy footsteps and the opening of his chamber doors make his ears perk up. He opens his eyes slowly, ready to rip apart whoever is bothering him, but he stills when he sees the last person he anticipated seeing in his chamber. Jeongguk just stares blankly as the omega's figure appears in front of him. He looks furious, but when has the omega not been furious with him? It's been years since the omega stepped foot in his quarters, refusing even after he practically begged the omega during his pregnancy to shift to his chambers so he could take care of him. Jeongguk wonders why he finally decided to step inside.

"What in the world do you think you're doing—locking yourself up and letting yourself starve for days?" The omega growls in rage, his fists balling. "Do you even realise that your daughter has been sad for the past few days because she hasn't seen you? Do you realise that unless you're with her, she won't eat her food properly?" The omega continued his angry outburst, but Jeongguk couldn't focus. He couldn't even hear what the omega was saying because all he could notice was how the omega looked pale and lifeless and how his eyes, which the vampire absolutely loved, were not glowing blue anymore. The omega looked still beautiful to him though; he always had, but the vampire couldn't bear how weak the omega looked, and he finds his eyes getting blurry with tears and his lips trembling.
