Confusion

Ashlyn's POV:

I watch as Aiden and Tyler bicker while playing a video game. I'm not really listening to their conversation but Aiden says something that causes Tyler to reach over and smack him with a pillow. To which Aiden replies by grabbing the pillow back and whacking Tyler across the face. That causes Tyler to lose the game and he yells something at Aiden, who in response scrambles off the couch and runs away. Tyler chucks the pillow at Aiden and chases after him. I watch the scene unfold as Logan is trying to calm them down without success. Aiden manages to sneak another smack at Tyler with the pillow and laughs at the yelling that follows again.

"Awwww.", someone speaks up next to me. I avert my attention to Taylor, who's grinning at me.

"What?" I question, confused.
"You're smiling."
"Yeah and?"
"And you're looking at a particular someone", she wiggles her eyebrows at me.
"I really don't get where you're going with this." I'm even more confused.

She sighs and mumbles something about me being clueless. She gets up and grabs my hand, pulling me to the kitchen. When we get there, she plops down on one of the chairs and looks at me with a serious expression.

"Have you ever had a crush on anyone?"

I frown and shake my head. I don't get why she's suddenly bringing up something like that. I've never been really interested in people, let alone to be interested enough to develop romantic feelings.

"Okay, that's going to be more difficult than i thought." She says to herself and turns to look at the others who are sitting on the couch, focused on the game again.

"What do you see when you look at Aiden?" She asks me, and I look at her questionably, following her gaze. He's laughing at Tyler, who is getting beat up at the game again, now by Logan.

"I don't know what you want me to say. A guy, I guess."
She looks at me with a weird expression.

"What other than that?"
"Taylor, I really don't know." I look at her a bit annoyed.
I have an idea now about where she's going with this, but I'm not really interested in going that path. She thinks I have a crush on Aiden. On AIDEN!?

"Oohh, so you really don't know." She speaks up a few seconds later, and looks like something just dawned on her.

"I don't have a crush on him if that's what you're getting at." I cut her off before she says anything else however she just grins at me.

"Why are you even under the impression that i would have a crush on him?" I follow up.

"Oh sweet clueless Ashlyn." She shakes her head, and I glare at her.

"I know what to do. I'm going to ask you a few questions, and I want you to really think about them and answer honestly."
"What's the point though? I'm telling you there's nothing here."
"Just do it for me, please."
"Fine.", I say with a sigh because I know she wouldn't leave it alone until I answer. She beams at me and claps her hands triumphantly.

"Okay, let's start with this, do you think about him?"
"I mean, I guess i do from time to time. We do spend a lot of time together after all."
"You know, with the whole phantom dimension and everything." I say before she could open her mouth. The grin that was starting to grow on her face turns into a disappointed look.

"You know what i mean Ash but think about it later. Moving on - Do you think he's attractive?"
"Seriously? Fine, i guess he's decent looking."

She complains about my answer and the interrogation goes on for about another 15 minutes, after which she goes back to the couch in defeat.

A few days later, I'm laying on my bed and I think back to the conversation with Taylor. Because of that talk, i've become weirdly aware of Aiden's presence, which is honestly unnerving. And he is somehow always near me which makes it worse. It doesn't matter that much, I should probably go to sleep now anyway.
