"Is it raining outside?"

I slammed the door as soon as I entered my office. My cousin, Ivy, was sitting at the end of the couch, looking at me like a wet chicken. I had been at the coffee shop when the rain suddenly poured, and I had forgotten to bring an umbrella. It had been sunny earlier; I hadn't expected the rain to pour so suddenly.

"Isn't it obvious?" I raised my eyebrow at her while putting all my things on my table.

Ugh! I felt like I wanted to cry. I had been sketching this mansion for a long time for the new project. I tried to hide and protect it, but the rain was just too strong. I got a towel from the drawer and dried myself.

"Auntie called us for a meeting," Ivy said, as if she's saying it like she's explaining why she's here. "She called us first cause we'll do a meeting first, only us then after another meeting with the whole board. Oh, and she said it'll be in her office." she continued.

I just nodded my head at her and I took off the blazer I was wearing. I think my blazer just saved my other clothes. I tore my drawings cause it's just useless since it's already wet. I threw it at the trashcan then I headed out to Mom's office with Ivy following me.

"Hello, Architect Jung," Dad greeted me and led me to our seats.

I'm not sure what we're going to discuss now, but these family meetings usually involve bad news.

"So..." Mom started speaking. "Our lawyer died," she said casually as if it was not a big deal.

I blinked when I heard it, not really processing what she said. My mom gave me a nervous smile.

"Okay?" Ivy questioned as if she was waiting for more news. "So?" she confusedly asked again; she didn't seem to understand the situation.

"Our lawyer, Ivy. Lawyer of the company. Head of the legal team." I explained to her how valuable that lawyer was. He was the mind of all our negotiations. I mean, admittedly, he was old. Maybe he died of sickness or something related to age.

"We need to hire another one." Dad nervously smiled at me. I instantly looked at him and frowned. I don't understand why he's giving me that kind of smile. "We just can't appoint someone. I haven't seen someone who's better than Atty. Choi. It's just so sad that he passed away."

"Okay? What will happen to the other members of the legal team? Resign? Atty. Choi holds all of them." I panicked after I processed the situation.

"Shush, they will stay. We'll just find another leader for them. They're not that good at functioning by themselves yet. They need to be pushed." I swear I can hear Mom's nervousness. I don't know why she's nervous; it's either something bad will happen to the company or there's an ongoing case that the company is facing today. I don't know. I'm just the head of the Architecture Dept.

"Okay, what's the plan? I can look for the best corporate lawyers out there." Ivy volunteered.

"Oh, honey, we already did search for the best of the best." Mom gave me a side-eye look. "I think Atty. Jeonghan Yoon is capable of-"

"No way." I immediately cut her off when I heard his name.

All of them looked at me, I closed my fist to prevent myself from raising my voice at them. "There's no way you're hiring that man."

"Ivy," Dad tried to calm me down. "Remember what I said? Don't let personal feelings affect your work. We searched for the best lawyers out there and believe me, almost all of them are not free for us. We can hire the services of Attorney Yoon. He's among the best corporate-"

"Isn't he a trial lawyer?" Ivy confusedly asked. "Oh right, he already quit handling criminal cases." she immediately answered herself.

"I swear to God, Mom, if you hire that cheater asshole, I will the company."

"Uhh..." Mom cleared her throat, "But he's now on his way."

"Fuck!" I annoyingly said and then I stormed out.

I hurriedly stormed out of the room but bumped into someone, causing me to stop. I annoyingly looked at someone I bumped into, but I was shocked to see who it was.

He was wearing a charcoal grey button-down dress shirt with a black necktie and a pair of black slacks. Employees kept on looking at him, probably attracted by his physical appearance. I could smell his familiar scent which brought back a lot of memories.

Our eyes met but he immediately looked away and acted like he didn't know me.

Like he didn't love me.

Or did he really?

"Excuse me, Miss." he coldly said.

Like he didn't hurt me.

"Sorry, you're standing in my way." He said

Like he didn't fool me.

At all.
