Rivalry?

The women of the Hyuuga Clan had a lot of fun dressing up Naruto growing up. The kitsune was often seen dressed in traditional suikan and sashinuki that tied close under his knees. Unlike the neutral colors favored by the Hyuuga, Naruto wore copper orange and other deep autumn colors with black hikigoshi tied around his waist. His hair has been tamed after the strict hair care regime Hiashi imposed on him via Hinata, letting them loose down his back like a golden waterfall. Though they had hints of red in their shine.

Another thing Hinata noticed about Naruto was his tendency to get distracted by quick movements. Once she had to chase him around Konoha's market street as he chased after a Genin who was already late for his team meeting. The poor boy screamed his head off while being chased by a kitsune until he crashed into his Jounin Sensei who was then bowled over by an overexcited Naruto. Due to that Hiashi commissioned a leather choker that Hinata tied around his neck and then connected a thick red braided cord like a leash when they were out and about. She has a lot of upper body training pulling him back from chasing random things like the cat that she noticed being chased by Genin all the time around Konoha. Hinata think her name was Tora.

As usual, she walked through Konoha with Naruto on his 'leash'. She didn't like attaching the 'leash' on him but it worked at keeping the already wary civilians calm as well as making sure that Naruto never run off too far. If anything, he seemed to enjoy Hinata holding the 'leash' like a big puppy. Once she came across Kiba being dragged around by his family's Ninken while she was being dragged by Naruto who seemed intent to investigate certain areas. They only shared a look and Kiba shrugged in understanding. Unlike Kiba who had to walk the dogs so that they could do their marking, Hinata 'walked' Naruto to keep him calm.

So as usual after training, to cool down, she walked him through the less populated area of Konoha and that meant edging into the training areas. Naruto had always been curious about the designated training spaces and he has slowly made his way there with Hinata. Hinata was distracted by the clear water, admiring the way the light bounced off of the surface when Naruto suddenly growled.

She looked up to see a sweaty Sasuke raising both hands, just like how one did when faced with a guard dog, scowling at Naruto, "Will you stop that?! I was here first! Besides, this is my clan's ground so you are the one trespassing!"

Hinata blinked. She didn't realize that she had entered Uchiha territory and that she had walked further than she usually did. She gulped, "S-sorry,"

Sasuke flinched when Naruto snarled at him. He stepped back, remembering all the broken bones he received for no reason that he could discern. Even if the girls tried to shield him, Naruto would just brush them aside or leap over them to get to him. Sasuke would be happy to stay away from Hyuuga Hinata but it was hard since they're in the same class and the same year. He couldn't avoid her all the time.

Just glancing at her was enough for Naruto to start growling at him.

He did not enjoy having his calves bitten bloody.

He turned from her and continued to practice his Katon Jutsu. He spat out a giant fireball, sweat pouring out of his skin from the heat. His fingers had long built thick callouses to counter the heat from his fire. He sighed as his breath came to an end. He turned to drink some water only to jump in shock at finding Naruto so close to him. He jumped away from the sudden proximity, all his once broken bones felt brittle from memories of being assaulted by the kitsune.

He looked at Hinata who had the kitsune's leash taut. Clearly this wasn't her plan.

Naruto leaned closer to him and Sasuke stiffened while the blond sniffed at him. He then sat on his haunches like an animal, his tail wagging behind him as he stared at Sasuke with interest. Sasuke shifted to left and stopped when Naruto raised his upper lip, baring a large fang. Sasuke huffed, "I'm just getting my water bottle,"
