"Team 7 is...Hyuuga Hinata, Uchiha Sasuke, and Uzumaki Naruto...your Jounin Instructor is Hatake Kakashi..."

Naruto lifted his head at his name. Minato was surprised too, "I didn't expect that they will treat you as a Shinobi and not Hinata's partner like Akamaru to Kiba. I wonder, what is Hiruzen's angle when he made this team?"

He wasn't surprised about Kakashi because of Sasuke. With no other Uchiha in the village, Kakashi was the only one qualified to train that boy. But he was also the only one outside the Hyuuga Clan and Iruka to be close to Naruto emotionally and won't abuse the boy out of fear. Also, this will be the first team of Genin with a Hyuuga and an Uchiha to be together since when Sasuke's family was around, there was a passive rivalry between the clan due to both being Dojutsu user. But Naruto will not cooperate well without Hinata, so Minato understood why Hinata and Naruto must be together.

When Iruka closed his lecture, he sat in his chair to wait for their Jounin Instructor to pick the team. He noticed that Ino and Sakura weren't happy with their team but there was little he can do about it. However, Team 7 seemed to be satisfied with who they ended up with. Considering that they had been seen together a lot, training with each other, he wasn't surprised. He was just a little worried since the person in charge of them was known to fail any team that was placed under him. But if the sight of Naruto chasing Kakashi all over Konoha was any indication, he felt that this Team 7 will work out.

As teams left with their Jounin Instructor one by one, Iruka called out, "Alright. It's lunch time. Go get your lunch and come back in an hour,"

Hinata stood up and Naruto naturally followed her. He was about to leave when he remembered Sasuke. The boy was brooding away, as usual, so Naruto just grabbed him around the waist with his tail. Too used to being manhandled by Naruto, Sasuke didn't even flinch. Instead, he resigned, "What?"

Hinata explained, "We are going to get some lunch. Aren't you hungry?"

Sasuke was about to say that he have his own lunch box before recalling that he came to the Academy with Hinata and Naruto, meaning he didn't make a lunch for himself. He sighed and nodded, "Sure,"

As they walked, Sasuke noticed Naruto's new 'collar' and saw pendant the shape of Konoha's leaf. Under the pendant was a red swirl that fit perfectly under the swirl of the Konoha's leaf. He frowned, "What does it mean?" When the others look at him, he gestured, "I understand the Konoha leaf but why the red swirl underneath it?"

Hinata smiled, "Oh, that is a nod to Naruto's clan. Did you notice the red swirl on every Konoha Shinobi's flak? Well, it is a nod the fallen clan in Uzushio. Without the Uzumaki Clan supporting the Senju and the Uchiha's truce, Konoha would have been impossible. But during the 2nd Shinobi war, near the end, Kiri and Kumo attacked Uzushio where the clan resided. Naruto is the last Uzumaki in Konoha. I don't know if there are any Uzumaki survivors out there but Konoha have an open door policy to accept them into the village. So far, there is only Naruto here," She petted Naruto's ear, "He is...a lot like you,"

Sasuke blinked and stared at Naruto with a new light. He hummed, "Naruto really had it hard, huh? Do you know why he's like this? Was all Uzumaki like him, with the ears and tails?"

Hinata thought about her answer, knowing that she can't divulge the full truth to Sasuke. But considering that they will be a team, keeping secrets from him would be unfair. She will have to discuss this with Kakashi, who knew, and decide from there.

In the meantime, she will give this, "No. Naruto-kun came from a human family. Something happened though and he ended up looking like this. From what I know, he was just a normal boy. Then, someone attacked him and it damaged his brain. Since then, he is...this," The truth but not everything.
