Year 2022, a worldwide phenomenon occurred beneath the surface and above. Burrowed deep underground maze-like structures called " Labyrinths" and infested with creatures novel to Earth began to unknowingly and spontaneously manifest beneath.
Above the surface were massive floating mountainous structures that had descended from the heavens called "Nimbus Fortress". The sudden appearance of these behemoths were the sole causes of major overhauls of how the world worked.
It took a fast-paced 7 years of worldwide reorganization, and another 5 years for countries to establish their own organizations to maintain and enforce order throughout their Labyrinths and Nimbus Fortresses.
Year 2034. Shizuoka Prefecture.
"The end..." My eyes trailed to the end of the page as I spoke out the finishing words of the novel I read.
Closing my eyes for a second, I closed the book that I had been reading this week. A deep sigh escaped from my mouth, my hand loosening its grip on the book making it fall on my nose.
"Ouch..."
After removing the book away from my face, I stared at the ceiling for a while, pondering.
"This is getting way too repetitive." I spoke to myself.
For a brief moment a spark of will had been granted to me. My eyes widened at the idea and quickly jolted up from the floor I laid on.
I hurriedly went to my study desk and grabbed my phone and opened up the most popular web search engine there is, Crookgle.
I sat on the floor searching for useful information on how to start as a Labyrinth Explorer.
The reason I brought this up is because north of Hamamatsu a Labyrinth suitable for beginners is present near Mount Akiha. I heard about this a long time ago, however I never really had the chance or the motivation to go, but right now, there is hope!!
I surfed the web searching for useful information before I can embark on exploration. A particular necessary information eventually caught the attention of my eye.
"Let's see, Shizuoka Guild registration costs... 8000 Yen?!" My jaw dropped from the cost for registration. I quickly broke free from the trance and proceeded to read the rest.
"No, last month the registration cost was 8500 Yen. Really? When my uncle registered it was merely 1500. 1500 Yen? I've never heard of it being that cheap."
Slightly agitated I sigh and turned off my phone after reading the debacle between the users about the fluctuating registration price. I did think that the price is fixed, however it seems like it isn't.I stood up from the floor and charged my phone before heading to the bathroom to take a shower. "I'll see for myself. If it's 8000 Yen then that's more than half of what I have saved up, but hopefully it doesn't get higher than that.. jeez."
.
.
."I look decent.. I think?" I spoke to myself in the mirror after tidying myself. Fresh from the bath, my black hair has a silky texture. It's smooth to finger comb and slightly bouncy. For my shirt, I wore my casual Beige T-shirt with a black jacket in case it gets too breezy and chill. While for my pants I just wore a gray trouser.
I don't look too bad nor shabby, I hope that's what others think too.
Picking up my sling bag; wearing it, I placed my wallet, phone, and charger inside.
Downstairs just at the proximity to the door that leads outside, I grabbed my sneakers from the shoe rack and wore it.
"Alright, let's go! A brand new journey to life!!"
