CHRIS MADE A BEELINE FOR THE LIVING ROOM, almost collapsing onto the couch. letting out a loud groan, he caught sight of matt's smug grin. "just say it," chris muttered in annoyance, his frustration evident as he poked his tongue against the inside of his cheek.
despite his knowing smile, matt feigned innocence. "i don't know what you're talking about," he said.
chris threw his head back with a sigh and an eye-roll. "i'm not stupid," he retorted.
with a nonchalant shrug, matt quipped, "i beg to differ."
he sat stiffly on the couch, trying to ignore matt's remarks. he rolled his eyes for the second time and remained silent as matt seemingly pondered another "clever" comment to make. the tense atmosphere was broken when nick casually strolled into the room and settled down next to him, wearing a similarly smug smile to matt's.
"so," nick began, nudging chris's folded arm, "how was school?"
