It has been some time since I made my way back to the castle, and I must say I am quite glad I did.

Though the worries that scatter through my mind make me anxious and paranoid because of this "relationship" I have with your highness, his loving words, his clear skin, his slender hands caressing my own make it all worth it.

If there is a need to fight for the sake of it, I would not waste a breath.

These have been peaceful days, a kind of calm I haven't felt in quite a while. I woke up at my usual hour and started my duties, waiting for the king to wake from his sleep. I was tending to the horses when I noticed Craig glaring at me, as if he could kill me with his eyes.

Trying to ignore him, I saw a familiar blonde boy come outside and put down his helmet. He walked up to me and said:

"Hey Stan, what's new?"

I was glad he came by, giving me a reason to avoid Craig.

"Not much, Ken"

I said with a shrug, carefully placing the ropes back in their place.

Ken looked at me, unsure about my response, but then his face softened into a smile.

"I'm really glad you came back."

I smiled back at him.

"Though, I have to say, I'm not too happy about the situation with His Majesty. Has it gotten any better?"

I felt a lump in my throat and coughed before replying,

"Oh-uh-yes, everything's good, Ken. You don't need to worry."

"Oh, I can see everything turned out great then. I should've guessed when I saw a dim light approaching our resting room at night, and you following along"

Ken said and my hair almost stood on end hearing his words. He had noticed the night Kyle and I went to get some tea, and I prayed he hadn't seen what happened later.

"Uh-The king just needed some help getting back something from the kitchen he left there"

I stammered. Ken chuckled before turning back to me.

"Of course, whatever you say, Stan."

He placed his hand through my hair and ruffled it playfully.

I smiled uncertainly as Ken smiled back, then turned and walked toward the entrance of the castle.

"I'll see you around. Careful not to forget anything around the castle again!"

he called out, laughing heartily before leaving.

Running my hands through my hair, I couldn't help but think about the past few days.

It was so wrong, but felt so right. When my lips met his, when my hands roamed over his body. I could recall his hair sticking to his forehead from the sweat, his breath hitching when we were close-

"Marshwalker!"

A sharp kick behind my leg snapped me back to reality. I turned quickly, facing the head of the knights, his mad expression leaving no room for excuses.

"Stop daydreaming like some whiny lady and get your hands working"

He exclaimed, his voice loud and commanding. His eyes drilled into mine for a moment before he turned and walked off, his heavy steps echoing through the courtyard.

I sighed, shaking off the memories and forcing myself to focus. The weight of my secret was heavy, but I had work to do, and I couldn't afford any mistakes with the knights watching.
