it was a quiet drive to the cullens. the only sounds being the occasional sharp inhale leaving ethans lips — god, he hated feeling like this. or just any kind of vulnerable emotion in general.
every now and again he would feel a sudden calmness running through his body, he knew it was jaspers doing but he didn't speak up about it and merely kept quiet. the car turned a familiar corner in the wooded area, the mansion coming into view completely.
the car came to a silent stop. jasper began to undo his seatbelt with ethan watching his every move. after a heartbeat of silence, ethan's coarse voice broke the silence, "you know i didn't mean to lie to you, right?" his voice was rough causing him to instantly clear his throat.
jasper unbuckled his belt, his yellowish eyes landing on the jaylin boy who looked uncharacteristically nervous. "i know." those two words made ethan furrow his brows — 'i know'? jasper seemed to catch the confusion which was drawn onto ethans features, "every time we're together. i can feel it, you're scared of something. and whatever that is... i assume this is it."
the brunette was silent for a few moments before swallowing a small lump in his throat. he nodded lightly. "yeah." was all he could muster up, his eyes looking at everything but jasper.
"i'm not mad at you. the others? i can't really say the same for them." a small frown tugged at jaspers lips before shaking his head, "c'mon, we need to get inside." his tone turned more urgent before he climbed out of the car, ethan following swiftly behind.
ethan and jasper made it to the front of the house when a sudden figure pushed past the both of them and into the distance. ethan furrowed his brows, turning his body to try and capture a glimpse and who it may have been: laurent.
"what was that all about?" ethan asked with furrowed brows, his eyes drifting to bella and edward who were standing in the doorway, alongside carlisle. "he came to warn us." carlisle spoke with a small sigh, shaking his head.
everyone was in the cullens garage, getting everything ready to get both ethan and bella the hell out of forks as quickly as possible. "we'll tear them apart and burn them to pieces." carlisle spoke, his tone awfully calm for such violent words.
