Maloi Ricalde's Point of View

"Ate Maloi hinahanap ka nga pala kanina ni Chase." Mikha spoke soon as I woke up. "Thank you for sending her home. Pasensya na sa abala."

Nakahiga pa rin si Mikha at halatang nilalagnat pa rin siya. I went to her to check her temperaturez mainit pa din. Inayos ko ang kumot niya at pinahina ang aircon dito sa kwarto.

"What happened nga pala? 5am ka na nakauwi eh."

"Doon ako pinatulog ni Chase pero umalis na din ako agad nung magising ako." sagot ko at lumabas na ng kwarto.

That's a lie.

Hindi ako natulog. After Chase kissed me lumabas na ako sa kwarto niya at umalis na ng condo. All the happenings were so sudden that I needed time and a right place to think, and Chase's place is far from being right.

Undeniably, I like Chase. Hindi ko 'yon itatanggi. But all the other external factors needs to be considered. Most especially my celebrity status. Hindi pa namin nari-reach yung peak ng career namin so it needs to be prioritized first more than anything else.

I thought we were good as friends. Okay na sa'kin kahit hanggang friendship lang. I can show affection as long as we're still comfortable with each other.

I didn't walk away dahil ayoko sa kanya, dahil hindi ko siya gusto. God knows how much I wanted to kiss her back, do more than that even! But the fact that she's drunk and probably not on the right mind, I might also commit a mistake.

And she's Mikha's best friend. Hindi namin malalaman ang mga pwedeng mangyari. If anything happens, it would affect either my friendship with Mikha or their friendship.

Hindi ko na alam. Nalilito ako.

Nang icheck ko ang phone ko ay nakita ko agad ang message niya.

'Hi Ate Maloi, good afternoon! I'm so sorry for last night, I acted out so aggressively. Please forgive me and let's just forget that last night happened? I am really sorry, please reply once you're awake. ❤️❤️'

just forget that last night happened... I smiled bitterly. I was right. She wasn't in the right mind last night and probably wasn't serious about any of what she said.

Medyo nakahinga ako nang maluwag. Tama nga yung ginawa ko. Tama lang na umiwas ako agad. Pero kumirot yung puso ko, the kiss meant nothing to her. Napapatanong nalang ako kung gano'n ba talaga siya pag lasing. I think she should be careful, paano nalang kung ang kasama niya ay hindi mapagkakatiwalaan.

Hindi ko alam pero naiinis ako, nagagalit ako. Why am I even feeling this way? Tama lang naman yung sinabi niya. I couldn't blame Chase totally, she was drunk, she wasn't in the right mind.

Nagulat ako nang biglang magring ang phone ko. Kinabahan ako saglit dahil akala ko ay si Chase ang tumatawag.

Nakahinga ako nang maluwag nung si Maki yung tumawag, but there's a hint of disappoint for some reasons I couldn't quite determine. Maybe I am expecting for her call after all.

Bumuga ako ng hangin at sinagot ang tawag ni Maki.

"What's up Ate Maloi, do you have plans today? I'm recording a new song." Bungad ni Maki sa kabilang linya.

Maki and I have gotten close since we both like OPM a lot. Nakakamangha din yung mga kanta niya, at a very young age he could compose songs already. He has such a talent.

"Talaga? Anong klaseng kanta naman 'yan?" tanong ko dito habang naghahanda ng late lunch ko. Nakakain na yung mga members ako nalang ang hindi dahil kagigising ko lang din.
