Prologue

I felt his bare chest underneath my head. His warm feet brushed against mine, sending warmth throughout my cold toes. I felt his lips place a kiss on top of my head. I soon drifted off into sleep for a bit, where I had a rather odd dream.

I was walking through a nice garden. All of the flowers were of bright colors and there was a great open space of green grass. I laid down on the grass. I suddenly felt a strange feeling, something I hadn't ever felt before. It felt as if the air around me was being taken away. I looked around and tried to stand up. Each time I did so, I fell back down. I began getting dizzy. The garden was spinning. As it spun around faster, it lost all of its color. It began to turn into black and grey everywhere. Suddenly I saw him coming out of the what used to be green, but now black bushes. His piercing green eyes were easy to spot. I reached out my trembling hand for help, but he snickered, then turned away. He left me sitting in the grass. I felt I was being consumed by the lack of air, by the darkness surrounding me.

I woke up, heart beating faster than I could ever remember. I was taking deep breaths. I was sweating terribly. I felt a strong arm around me, holding me close.

"Shh," Harry whispered,"it's ok, it was just a bad dream."

I locked eyes with the beauty, he stroked my hair back from my face. He kissed my forehead and laid back down. I fell asleep in his arms, letting myself drift off into an uninterrupted sleep.

I woke up to an empty bed. The smell of bacon and eggs filled the air around me. I heard shuffling coming from the kitchen. I slowly got up out of the bed and walked over to where the delicious smell was coming from. I stood in the doorway, watching him at the stove. He looked up at locked eyes with me.

"Well good morning beautiful," he said, walking over to me and kissing my cheek.

"Morning Harry," I smiled.

"I have a breakfast planned for you. Hope you like it."

He led me over to the table and sat me down in the chair. He put the plate of breakfast in front of me.

"I'm gonna go take a shower. You finish your food, babe. I'll be out in a bit."

With that he left. My mind began to wander back to the dream last night. I knew it was Harry who had come out of the bushes and refused to help me. I feared it may be a sign of things to come. The words of my friends filled into my mind.

"He's a heartbreaker."

"Don't trust him."

"Harry just wants to hurt you."

They didn't match his personality that I had seen at all. But despite all of the care and love Harry has been giving me, I cannot stop this feeling inside me that something was wrong. The fact that all of my friends didn't like him either made it much worse. Now I couldn't even sleep without having suspicions of this boy.

I heard the shower turn on. He'd be out soon. Harry's always been one for short showers. I knew he'd also be eager to get out and see me. I decided to let the evil thoughts if him leave my mind and focus on eating. I was starving. I walked over to his fridge to get a drink, but before I could open the door, something on the floor caught my eye.

A small journal was sticking out of the bottom of the fridge. I picked it up and began to flip through it. I was frightened, shocked, dumbfounded. Some pages of the small journal were filled with pictures of sketches of evil creatures. The pencil marks were deep, they sunk into the other side of the book. On some pages were just rambles of dark words. Some pages were scribbled in completely black. In the very back of the book on the last two pages was my name written hundreds of times in different sizes. Around the pages were droplets of something.
