Before everything I tell you starts, you need to know every important character. Of course you have Moss but there's quite a few others in his story. Moss, Ivan their brother, their parents, Erebus, Angel, Malacoda, Nigel, Herder, Cathy, and Gameknight999. Many more are important sure but for now these are the people that matter. You could say it started when she was born, but even moss would say that's too far back in the past and far too much to tell. Instead we'll start at their seventh birthday. What a magical moment for most, surely moss would get the same privilege...
Moss' pov
~~~~~~
As I entered the room I was greeted by my family. My mom, dad, and Ivan. Ivan is my brother, we're twins despite what others seem to think. I've known him since birth. Balloon littered the room, they were so pretty and shiny. Then my focus landed on the beautiful blue and pink cake, it was a circle just like me and Ivan liked it. This cake was decorated with hay and apples. Hay on the blue, while the pink is decorated with the apples. This is because I liked apples and Ivan liked hay more. The flower themed table cloth was a beautiful touch to everything. I took Ivan's hand... er... hoof."good morning Ivan! Happy birthday!" I said happily while leading Ivan over to the table. He laughed while speed walking with me "Happy birthday, moss" he's always too quiet, but it's never matter before so I smile wide. We sit in the comfortable light grey chairs as our parents light the candles on the cake. Two candles, two 7 shaped candles. Seven we were really turning seven! Isn't that so exciting? Of course it was. We counted down before having the birthday song sang to us. When we were done singing Ivan and I blew out our colorful candles. I made my silent wish to be able to stay in the moment we were in. I look at Ivan, he looks in thought.
"what did you wish for, Ivy?" I ask with a head tilt something that usually helps snap him back. Ivan blinks and looks to me "you know I'm not going to tell you, you ask every year". I huff. Ivan was correct I do ask every time, but he won't ever tell me always saying something like 'if I tell you it won't come true' or he asked why I'm so curious. "Come on I just wanna know" I may have whined as I asked. Ivan only shakes his head as mom cuts is a slice of the beautiful cake. The blue was chocolate while the pink side was strawberry. Neither of us really like vanilla so it's always been chocolate and strawberry flavored. I ate my pretty strawberry slice, while Ivan started to eat his chocolate cake. The apples were a great mix with the strawberry of the cake.
Some started outside. I couldn't tell what was going on but it was really loud outside. Dad closed the window making it was quieter in the room, though some noise still bleeds into the room. "What's going on?" I ask with some cake still in my mouth. He makes a face, it's kinda a funny face to me. "It's just firecracker. You know something loud" dad said with a smile now. Ivan and I look at each other firecrackers have always been too loud for us and our parents. From what mama has told us, because of us being hybrids our ears are sensitive to the loud sounds. We finish our pieces of cake while we buzzed with excitement. We knew that soon we would be opening colorful presents. My hooves tapped against the ground as we waited. Dad left the room briefly. Me and Ivan were practically jumping knowing where he was going, he'd be bringing the gifts back soon. Our mom came over and patted us both, she had always did this as a way to calm us down. We looked up at her with bright smiles on our faces.
Dad soon came back with four beautifully wrapped presents. All of them wrapped in a variety of pink paper. The light pink ribbons tying in well with the white wrapping of our gifts. Ivan was handed the two striped ones while I got the dotted ones. Ivan opened his a bucket and a wooden sword. When I opened mine I was just as surprised by the items. A potted nightshade and a music disc. Beautiful in every way that's mama would say. The people outside seemed to get louder for some reason. A loud thud against the door gathered father's attention away from us. Father left the room this time to the door. Me and Ivan assumed that mama and father had planned something bigger for us now that we were turning ten.Cathy, a long time friend was the last person we expected at our door. She was our age only a month older, but she looked... rough. I'd never seen her this hurt. Slashed on her shoulders and sides. Not even our fights got that bad. Mama looked at her, she made a face. Not silly or upset for the blood but something else. I've never seen the expression before, especially not from mama. She ushered all of us to stand and started leading us to the back of the house. We never went to the backyard and why was dad following? That's what really worried me. Cathy had come in but dad hadn't come back. I looked at Cathy and asked her "what's happening outside Cathy?". She didn't respond just looked sad.
mama finally led us to the backyard. It was loud, what sounded like screams could be heard. They weren't like the ones my and Ivan make when we fight though. Ivan pulled back from mama demanding answers "What's going on? Why isn't Cathy saying anything?". I understood his confusion as I followed up his questions "where's dad?".. they all looked to me like they hadn't realized. Mama sighed "something bad is happening. I'm going to let you all outside the back and I need you all run. Do you understand?". "What? Why?" Ivan asked sounding just as confused as I felt. We looked to mama as she opened the door. Cathy still didn't talk as she walked out with us.
mama told us quietly to "run". We still didn't understand but we did so. The forest wasn't something we were used to but we ran nonetheless. The screams and what sounded like swords classing in the background. But not the wooden ones the other usually play with.
~3rd person pov~
Moss covered his ear as he ran with the others despite that he heard the net. Ivan was caught, moss looked at him as Cathy kept running leaving the others behind. Moss desperately tried to get Ivan down but the sound of twigs breaking alerted him to something. She turned her head to see a user. A blue sword in their hand that glowed a faint purple. Moss looked at Ivan who shooed him away. Moss backed away as his hooves left the netting he heard a second go off, Cathy. Moss didn't have time to think as she started to run through the woods.
his only thought was safety and guilt as he knew what would happen to them. User are not forgiving creatures and it wouldn't turn out well for them. The forest was scratchy and far too real at this moment. The twigs and logs scratching at her skin. It must've been hours before the screaming wasn't heard in moss' ears anymore. He felt like he might collapse if he kept running. He set his head down only to find it on fabric. They looked up only to find a blood red enderman looking down at him confused and angry.
