As the ship descended toward the grand courtyard of Beacon Academy, the lively conversation between Ruby, Yang, and the eclectic quartet of Y/N, John, Roger, and Farrokh continued to flourish, drawing curious glances from the other students. The vibrant energy between them was palpable, a blend of excitement, humor, and a shared sense of adventure.
Suddenly, the ship's descent seemed to slow, as if time itself had taken a deep breath. The bustling noise of the excited students faded into a muted hum, and the lights within the craft flickered momentarily. It was a subtle shift, almost imperceptible, but it caught the attention of Y/N, who paused mid-laugh, his gaze narrowing as he looked around.
Y/N: (quietly) Something's not right.
Ruby, caught off guard by the sudden change in his demeanour, looked up at him with concern. "What do you mean?"
Before Y/N could respond, the ship shuddered, its engines groaning under some unseen strain. The lights flickered again, more aggressively this time, casting strange, elongated shadows that danced across the walls. It was as if the very fabric of reality was bending, twisting in ways it shouldn't. The other students began to notice, their excited chatter giving way to uneasy murmurs.
Farrokh, ever the showman, tried to lighten the mood with a dramatic flair. "Ladies and gentlemen, I do believe we've entered a time vortex. Anyone up for a waltz through the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff?"
But Y/N wasn't laughing. His brow furrowed in concentration as he subtly reached into his coat, his fingers brushing against a familiar, comforting object. The sonic screwdriver. He held it up discreetly, activating it with a quiet whirr. The device hummed in response, the blue light at its tip flickering ominously.
John and Roger exchanged concerned glances. They knew that look on Y/N's face all too well—it was the look of a man who had seen things beyond imagination, who had faced down horrors that defied description. And it was a look that meant trouble was brewing.
Yang, noticing the tension, tried to break the silence. "So, is this some kind of... initiation prank? Beacon does have a reputation for being full of surprises."
Y/N shook his head, his expression grave. "No prank, I'm afraid. There's something wrong here, something... ancient."
As if on cue, the ship's engines gave a final, desperate whine before sputtering out entirely. The craft lurched, tilting dangerously to one side, and a low, eerie hum filled the air—a sound that seemed to resonate deep within their bones.
The view outside the windows shifted abruptly. Instead of the sprawling campus of Beacon, the students now saw a vast, swirling maelstrom of light and shadow, a chaotic storm of energy that defied logic. The ship was being pulled toward it, drawn into the heart of the vortex.
Ruby's eyes widened in fear and awe. "What... what is that?"
Y/N's voice was calm but tinged with urgency. "That's a tear in the fabric of time and space, a rupture caused by a collision of powerful forces. Something or someone has triggered it, and now we're being dragged into it."
Farrokh, ever the optimist, quipped, "Well, it's not exactly the grand entrance we were hoping for, but at least it's memorable!"
John, his usual confidence wavering, asked, "Can we stop it? Or at least get out of here in one piece?"
Y/N's eyes were fixed on the swirling vortex outside, his mind racing. "We have to stabilize the ship, or we'll be torn apart by the temporal currents. But more than that, we need to find out what's causing this—this isn't just a natural phenomenon. Something's pulling the strings, and we need to cut them before it's too late."
