A week later... The duo arrived at the densely populated city of Kuo Kuana, on the island of Menagerie. Menagerie is the one place everyone can feel safe, no matter who or what they are. It serves as the home of most of the Faunus kind.

Y/N and his father started to make haste to a house owned by his uncle, who used it as a safehouse. This safehouse was exactly what the father and son desperately required. They arrived at the safehouse door and quickly opened it, running inside. Y/N carefully hid the metal in a drawer in the kitchen.

(Y/N POV)

Y/N: "Father, Why did we have to run from our home, my friends?" I asked, my voice tinged with curiosity and concern.

Harold: "Y/N, I made a promise to your mother that you would be safe. We had to get out of there," he responded, his voice filled with pain. I knew why. One day, she just up and left, without a goodbye to her only son. However, she told my dad a number of things just moments before she left. We both missed her, but for three years now, it has just been Dad and me.

[Time Skip - 1 HOUR LATER]

After getting things sorted, Harold told Y/N to go out and explore but to make sure he hid his tail before leaving. Y/N complied, concealing his tail, and set off to explore the city of Kuo Kuana.

During his exploration, he spotted five Faunus kids: Blake Belladonna, Adam and Ava Taurus, Ilia Amitola, John Belladonna, and Sienna Khan.

Little did Y/N know that these kids would all impact his life in some way...

Y/N, being naturally curious, approached the five kids.

Y/N: Umm, Hi, I am Y/N May. I just moved here and wanted to know if I can hang out with you?

John gave him a warm smile and waved, while Blake looked at her brother, knowing he was a good judge of character.

Blake: Of course!

And all five of them played for hours, Y/N finally happy to have people to call friends...

After playing for hours with his newfound friends, Y/N headed home. He opened the door and stepped into the dark home.

Y/N: Dad?

Y/N entered the living room to find a lamp on above a desk. He walked towards the desk and found a letter.

Y/N read the letter.

"Dear Y/N,

Listen, son, you're growing up so quickly. Growing up, bigger by the day, Although your Mother and I want you here, the rules are very clear, Now you're seven. So it's time to go away. You're gonna make us proud, no backing up allowed. Just keep walking.

We're different, son, which means that life is harder. People hate the things they cannot understand, and when they look at us, they tend to make a fuss and burn our houses down.

Run Fast, Be Brave, and most importantly, be kind.

Love, Dad."

Y/N's eyes welled up with tears as he realized he was now alone. His fight to survive had now begun...
