Jennie jolted awake.
She wasn’t sure what had woken her at first. Something deep within her seemed to have jolted.
In her just-awoken daze, she noticed that Roseanne was also awake, and clutching her stomach.
“Roseanne what’s—oh my God, is the bed wet?” Jennie asked, becoming more aware of her surroundings.
“Argh! My water broke!” Roseanne groaned, her pretty face pinched with pain.
Jennie immediately leapt out of bed.
“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! Are you having contractions?!” Jennie yelped, wringing her hands, “We need to get to St Mungo’s right away!”
Jennie ran to the wardrobe to get some clothes, halting partway. Maybe she should get Roseanne up first. She ran back towards the bed, before halting again. Maybe she should get ready before getting Roseanne up??
Jennie darted back and forth in a panic, unsure of what to do.
“Jennie!” Roseanne groaned.
Jennie, yelping, dragged on a hoodie and some jeans before grabbing some clothes for Roseanne. She managed to help Roseanne out of bed and into some clothes, flinching at the pain Roseanne seemed to be in whenever her contractions hit.
“Eunwoo! Bambam!” Jennie hollered as loud as she could manage.
The door burst open and Eunwoo and Bambam scrambled in, wands out and at the ready.
“Wha’ izzit?!” Bambam sleepily bellowed, “Intruder?!”
The poor sleepy boy’s hair was all stuck up at the back and he was in his stripey pajamas. Eunwoo looked just as sleep-ruffled, but a little more alert.
“Roseanne's having the baby!” Jennie shrieked, “Can one of you summon us a carriage to get to St Mungo’s?”
“On it, Jennie!” both boys replied in unison, crashing into each other as they hurried out the doorway.
Jennie then grabbed a nearby duffle, tossing into it things they might need while at St Mungo’s.
Roseanne whimpered and Jennie promptly zipped the bag up and was at her side in a second.
“Are you okay?” Jennie asked, alarmed.
“What do you think?” Roseanne hissed sarcastically from between her gritted teeth. She seemed in a great deal of pain.
“Carriage is here!” Bambam bellowed from down the stairs.
“Roseanne can you… Sod it,” Jennie growled protectively, not even wanting to ask Roseanne to walk down the stairs. She slung the duffle bag over her shoulder before sweeping Roseanne into her arms—beyond grateful for the extra strength the bond had provided her with.
Jennie swept through Grimmauld Place, flinching every time Roseanne whimpered or groaned with pain. She sorely wished she could ease the pain for Roseanne, but had no idea how to without potentially harming the baby.
Eunwoo and Bambam were nervously pacing near the front door, shouting words of encouragement Jennie could barely comprehend in her frantic state. She yelped some kind of thanks as she rushed out the door, Roseanne's platinum blonde hair fluttering behind them.
It was all a blur as they sped off in the carriage and then into St Mungo’s. Jennie felt a horrible combination of sensations; kind of like she might simultaneously throw up, faint or shout.
Jennie came back to her senses as a young nurse approached her, repeating her name.
“Miss Kim? Are you okay?” the nurse asked.
