Yn lay unconscious on the bed, her face ghostly pale, the usual color drained from her cheeks. Her delicate features were softened by the stillness of sleep, but the slight furrow of her brow hinted at the turmoil within her body. Her breathing was shallow, and her lips, usually vibrant, were tinged with a worrying blue.
Around her, seven boys and two girls stood in a tense semicircle. The boys, dressed in casual clothing, ranged from tall and broad-shouldered to lean and athletic. Their expressions varied from worry to frustration, each processing the situation differently. Jin, the oldest, had a hand on his chin, deep in thought, while Yoongi leaned against the wall, his face set in a grim mask. Taehyung and Jimin exchanged nervous glances, their usual playfulness nowhere to be found. Namjoon and Hoseok stood close together, their concern evident in their tense postures. Jungkook, however, was closest to Yn, his dark eyes fixed on her face, a deep crease forming between his brows.
The two girls, Jaehee and Yoonji, were equally distressed. Jaehee had her arms wrapped around herself, as if trying to ward off the fear gnawing at her, while Yoonji's usually vibrant eyes were dull with worry.
Dr. Han, an experienced physician with a stern demeanor, entered the room again, holding a clipboard with the results of Yn's tests. His face was serious as he approached the group. "I have the results," he said, his voice grave, capturing everyone's attention. "She was given a high dosage of opioids, which explains her current state. Additionally, I need to inform you that she has hemophilia. This complicates things because even a minor injury could lead to significant bleeding, making her condition much more dangerous."
The group exchanged worried glances, the weight of Dr. Han's words sinking in. Jungkook felt a knot tighten in his chest, his grip on Yn tightening as he absorbed the information.
Dr. Han took out a syringe and injected a stabilizing medication into Yn's arm. "This will help her body process the opioids and stabilize her condition for now," he explained. "But you must monitor her closely. If anything unusual happens, call me immediately. Her condition is under control for the moment, but we can't take any chances."
Just as Dr. Han finished, there was a knock on the door. The room tensed as Jin quickly peeked through the keyhole. "It's Dadi," he whispered urgently. He then turned to Jungkook. "Quick, lift her and take her to the closet room."
Jungkook didn't hesitate. He carefully but swiftly scooped Yn into his arms, her head resting against his shoulder, her breath warm and faint against his collarbone. He could feel the fragile weight of her body, the rhythmic but weak breaths against his skin making his protective instincts flare up. With every step, he was conscious of her vulnerability, the seriousness of her condition making his heart pound.
In the main room, Yoonji quickly lay down on the bed, pulling the covers over herself, feigning illness as Jin hurriedly adjusted the pillows. Just as she settled in, Dadi entered the room, her sharp eyes scanning the scene.
"What happened to her?" Dadi asked, her tone a mix of concern and suspicion.
Jin, always quick on his feet, replied, "Dadi, she's just got a headache. Nothing serious."
Dadi raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. "Does she even have one?"
The room burst into laughter at Dadi's sharp remark. Suga, trying to contain his grin, said, "After all, you're my Dadi. I taught you well how to be savage."
Dadi wasn't having it. With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she tapped Suga's leg with her stick. "Don't flatter yourself, dumbass. I was the one who taught you everything you know."
