"Can't leave Ginny here," they agreed and they rushed after her as fast as they could without making much sound.

She couldn't have gotten far in those few seconds they hesitated. Alden saw her disappear around the corner and he went over into a sprint. He wasn't fast enough and she ran into a large open hall. He presumed it had once been an arena of some kind.

"Wait!" he called after her in a whisper. He finally managed to catch her by the back of her jacket, forcing her to stop.

What he didn't realize yet, but Maggie did, was that he and Ginny were out in the open. He only realized it when armed men came towards them. Maggie stayed back and sought cover before she was spotted. Alden pushed Ginny behind him and grabbed his weapons, only to realize it was Amaia and her group.

"Oh, thank god," he sighed relieved, easing up.

"They're not here," Amaia said.

Maggie came out of hiding immediately. "Then where are they?"

"Where's Negan?" she shot back.

"Don't know," Alden sighed. "We had a car, but the girl came first."

Tomasso had questions to ask, but was cut off by music starting up. Classical and loud, it filled the whole hall with noise. They feared it was a trap of sorts, so they hurriedly got in line for a last stance. The ground shook from multiple explosions going off around them.

"I think this is our sign to get out of here," Tomasso said.

"What about Negan?" Amaia countered.

Alden pointed ahead to the same hallway they had entered through. "I think we have to worry about ourselves first." A large herd of walkers flooded into the hall.

Maggie's instincts kicked in immediately and she took charge. "Follow me!" she yelled and began to run away from the approaching herd. The whole group followed her instinctively.

"Magie, it is no use," Alden called out to her. "They're coming from every direction." The music switched up on them, causing them to halt. "And I really should've brought my spear," Alden sighed.

This was where they would hold their last stand.

It was just short of a miracle that they'd made it out alive. The loss of life had been immense, only Maggie, Alden, Ginny, Amaia and Tomasso had managed to make it out.

They blocked the door of the small room they were seeking refuge in off with a heavy iron tank. It had taken all five of them to move it. It should keep the walkers occupied for quite a while, but without a way out it wouldn't matter.

Maggie pointed out a sign on the wall. "We can get out through the sewers."

"No, it's too dangerous," Amaia protested. "All the dead are down there and the air, we can't breathe-"

"Amaia, what other options we got?" Tomasso called her back to reality. "We got to."

Although reluctantly, Amaia went along with the plan and helped Maggie and Tomasso lift the grate. They were the first three to ascend into the darkness.

"Clear," Maggie called up to Alden and Ginny.

"Come on," Alden nudged the girl. "Someone has to close the grate behind us."

She hesitated and refused to move.

"We're going to keep you safe," he promised. "Well, you know, we'll do so to the best of our abilities. But if you stay here, you will die. That door won't hold forever."
