The next morning, Jungkook called in a favor from a friend who was a doctor. He explained the situation, his voice tight with fear. His friend agreed to see Taehyung that afternoon, promising discretion. Jungkook felt a mix of relief and guilt, but he knew he had to do something.

When Taehyung woke up, Jungkook was by his side, a tray of breakfast in hand. He forced a smile, trying to keep the worry from his face. "You've got to eat," he said, setting the tray down. Taehyung's eyes lit up at the sight of his favorite breakfast, but the shadows under his eyes spoke volumes.

They ate in silence, the tension palpable. Jungkook's mind was racing with the conversation he had to have with Taehyung. He didn't want to betray his trust, but he couldn't stand by and watch him suffer. Finally, he took a deep breath and spoke. "Tae, I made an appointment with a doctor for this afternoon. We need to talk about what's going on with your health," he said, his voice firm but gentle.

Taehyung's fork clattered to the plate, his eyes wide with fear. "What? Why? Did you tell someone?" he asked, his voice shaking. Jungkook reached over, taking his hand in his. "I didn't tell anyone, I just need you to get checked out. Please, for me," he pleaded.

"But Kookie I told you in already seeing doctor. You're worrying too much, there was no need for you to call a doctor," Taehyung protested weakly, his voice filled with a mix of fear and exhaustion. Jungkook knew that he was trying to keep the situation light, but he couldn't ignore the desperation in his eyes.

"I know you are, but I need to be sure," Jungkook said, his voice firm but filled with love. "You're my everything, and I can't bear the thought of losing you," he added, his thumb brushing over Taehyung's knuckles. Taehyung took a deep breath, his eyes filling with tears. "Okay," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

The rest of the morning passed in a blur of nervous energy and forced smiles. Jungkook tried to keep the mood light, playing music and making small talk, but the weight of the upcoming appointment hung over them like a dark cloud. Taehyung pushed his food around on the plate, his appetite gone.

As the time grew closer, Taehyung slowly got ready, his movements sluggish and pained. Jungkook watched him, his heart breaking with every step Taehyung took. He wanted to scoop him up and carry him to the doctor himself, to protect him from the world that was slowly crumbling around them.

In the car on the way to the doctor's office, Jungkook held Taehyung's hand tightly, offering silent support. Taehyung's skin was hot, and his eyes held a sadness that Jungkook hadn't seen before. They sat in the waiting room, surrounded by the faint smell of antiseptic and the muffled sounds of footsteps and hushed conversations. Jungkook squeezed Taehyung's hand, trying to offer comfort.

When the doctor called them in, Taehyung's grip tightened. Jungkook could feel the tremble in his fingers. As they entered the office, Taehyung was surprised to see his doctor, Dr. Kim. And Dr. Kim was just as surprised since he didn't inform him about any appointment.

Jungkook stepped in before Taehyung could say anything. "Good evening, Dr. Kim Namjoon yes?"

The doctor looked up from his clipboard, "Ah, yes. Please sit down." Jungkook noticed the doctor's eyes lingering on their joined hands, but he ignored it, focusing solely on Taehyung.

Taehyung's heart raced as he sat on the examination table, the coldness of the paper making him shiver. Dr. Kim looked at Jungkook with a question in his eyes, but Jungkook only nodded, urging him to continue. The doctor cleared his throat and began his examination, his movements efficient and gentle.

As Dr. Kim listened to Taehyung's heart, Jungkook could see the concern etched on his face. He tried to keep his own expression neutral, but the fear was gnawing at him. Taehyung's eyes were squeezed shut, his breathing shallow. Jungkook wanted to pull him into his arms and shield him from whatever was coming, but he knew he had to be strong.
