Milly's Promise: Choosing Love or Hunger!

For the rest of the month, Milly was very depressed. Milly ate the pilot and the stewards, but her appetite had greatly diminished. She hasn't eaten anything that morning. That morning, Jora came to visit her again. "Hey Milly, I heard you had a bad fight with Isham and Joanna last month. Would you like to talk about it?"

Milly sighed. "There's nothing to talk about. They care more about humans than they do about my feelings. I told them all the hardships I faced these past few years, and they refused to come live with me because I continue to eat humans. What's wrong with eating humans? Everyone here knows that humans are just food!"

"You're wrong, Milly. Sure, I will eat humans who come here willingly because they are either too stupid or too selfish to care about the family they are living behind. I also eat inhabitants because the inhabitants eat tomthumbs and neeras, so they are part of the food chain. But these humans aren't any of that. They just had bad luck like me and Tanny. I think these are the humans that Isham doesn't want you to eat. Why can't you just respect his wishes? Jora said.

"Because I am not doing anything wrong! Sure, some humans are smart and intelligent. I love many of the stories they have written,but let's be honest. Most humans are really stupid! They are too small and they taste really yummy! Why would they taste so yummy if they weren't food?" Milly asked.

"Back in my world, there were many foods that tasted delicious! But just because they were delicious didn't mean they were good for you. Some foods would make you really fat and cause you to get sick! It's the same with humans. Just because they taste yummy doesn't mean you should eat every human you see. Just think of Isham, if you ate him the first time you met, you wouldn't have had that beautiful friendship. Sometimes, you have to make sacrifices for those you care about. Crisis left the great tree, and she is very busy protecting her safe harbor now. She made sacrifices to protect humans. Can't you make sacrifices for Isham and Joanna?" Jora asked.

Milly was conflicted. She wanted Isham and Joanna back in her life, but she didn't want to stop eating humans. However, she realized that she would have to make a choice between having Isham in her life and eating humans.

"I know this isn't easy for you. You have been eating humans your whole life, but if Crisis could change, then so can you. Think about your time with Isham. Then, remember the taste of eating humans. Now, think about which memory makes you happier and make a decision. Just remember, whatever you choose, make sure you will have no regrets." Jora then hugged Milly. Then Jora left.

Milly was conflicted. Then her stomach growled, and she looked at the humans she caught yesterday. The poor humans were really scared. They thought they were going to be eaten. She closed her eyes and thought long and hard about what she wanted to do. Then she made a decision. She went to the cage and picked it up as the humans screamed!

While Jora was visiting Milly, Tanny decided to visit Isham in Crisis's safe harbor. She gathered up the courage to apologize to him for almost eating him twelve years ago. The night she stayed with Jade, Jade told her that a good way to apologize was to give a gift, so Tanny picked up a purple flower for him. "Hi Isham, how are you doing? Do you remember me?" She asked him.

Isham had trouble recognizing her since the last time he saw her was twelve years ago. However, he was eventually able to recognize her. "Yeah, you are Tanny, right? You almost ate me twelve years ago."

"Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. I was a really stupid kid back then. Here, I got a flower for you. You can give it to your kids. I'm sure they would love it." Tanny said.

"Wow, thank you, Tanny! I'm sure my kids will love it!" Then Isham called Ella and Tommy over. The flower was big with purple petals and a green stout. While Isham's kids were playing, Tanny sat down next to Isham.
