Jamie sat in the school library as he studied while listening to his ipod.
"What's up co-captain!" Chuck said as he came into the library.
"Hey Chuck." Jamie said.
"Are you ok man?"
"Yeah, I'm just nervous about tonight I guess."
Tonight was the night of the first game. Basketball games were kind of a big deal at Tree Hill. Everyone in the town went to them.
"I don't know why your nervous, your the best player on the team." Chuck said.
"Well, I haven't told my dad about the whole captain thing, like that Skills decided to make us co-captains."
"Just make up an excuse that I said it wasn't fair or something like that, that's what everyone else thinks."
"I guess."
"Are you ok? That I'm co-captain, I can back off if that's not what you want."
"No, no its not that. I'm glad you are. It takes some responsibility off me."
"Do you know what you're going to do with your new found freedom?"
"Not sure yet, I haven't ever really looked at the other extracurriculars here. I was predestined to play ball."
Chuck got up from the table, and grabbed one of the brochures that highlighted Tree Hill's clubs.
"Hey! You should join the culinary club, girls love men that can cook," Chuck said.
"I am pretty sure if I wanted to impress girls, I would just stay with basketball. Besides, the last time I tried to cook something I almost burnt the house down."
"What about marching band?" Chuck said laughing. "It says they are looking for an oboe player. You would look so cute marching across the field in uniform."
"I am not doing marching band, but the musical route might not be to bad."
"Yeah remember when you tried to play the piano in the talent show," Chuck said smiling.
"It wasn't that bad!"
"You missed every note."
"My mom is Haley James, I must have some musical ability."
"We don't all inherit things from our parents, thank goodness."
Chuck heard the bell ring.
"I gotta go! If I'm late to Biology again I'll get detention." Chuck said has he sprinted out of the library.

Recess was starting. Sophia was walking down the hall to the play ground when she bumped into her cousin, Keith. Keith and Sophia are best friends. They always have been. While Sophia was going through chemo last year, Keith was always by her side. He rode his bike to the hospital everyday and did his homework in the hospital. Sometimes he would even sleep there.
"Oh hey Keith!" Sophia said.
"Hey Soph."
"Are you guys going to the game tonight?"
"I wouldn't miss it. I love watching Jamie play, and Sawyer is cheering so that's always interesting" Keith told her.
"Oh yeah, I forget that Sawyer cheers. She is not a very "cheery" person."
"Trust me I know."
As Sophia and Keith walked down the hall they saw Landon come running down the hall way.
