Chapter 1
The forest surrounding the Hill Mountain pack has always been lush and bursting with life. As the young pups ran around no one noticed one slip away.
Amaris was intrigued by the sparkling reflection of the sun on this mysterious lake that suddenly called his attention. Looking back now and then to see if he's been caught, he slowly picked up the pace. Soon enough he was at the lake. It was beautiful, calm, and quiet. And strangely enough, he wanted to know what it tasted like!
"Amaris! Amaris!!!!" The voice of a young lady called out.
Weighing his options between getting caught and tasting the water, he chose the water instead. As he moved closer to the lake, the sound of his name got louder. And just as he was caught, he gulped down a handful of water.
"There you are! Did you not hear the bells?! Let's go the rouges are attacking!" She yelled as she reached out for the pup. Grabbing him she sprinted towards the pack house trying not to get noticed by the rouges. They had almost made it when she stumbled almost dropping him but she kept running and this time towards the clinic and then he blacked out.Amaris POV
My head hurts. My chest hurts. Everything hurts! Why won't people stop yelling at me?
"I'll ask again Amaris, where were you?!!" The pack Alpha asked.
"L-l-lake" I responded with a stutter. What I did was wrong and I knew. Pups are always supposed to stay close to the adults and I didn't listen.
"Lake? You left pack boundaries for a LAKE?!!!"
"I'm sorry!" The alpha was very angry and he scared me. I looked around at the other adults and they looked angry as well.
"Pup sorry's not going to help you if my mate, your Luna doesn't wake up! Lock him up!"
Another man grabbed and dragged me to a separate building from the pack clinic. The building was scary and the smell made me feel sick. There were people there but they looked sick as well. We finally arrived at an empty cell and I was pushed in."You will stay here until further notice and for your own good......pray"
The man left and I did what he said.
I prayed that the Luna would be okay and the Alpha would stop being angry with me. The sun came up and went down a few times and nobody came back for me.
"Hey, pup!"
I heard someone call for me so I looked around for the voice and saw a man with his hands in the air.
"Why are you flying?" I asked,
"I'm not."
"But you have your hands in the air!"
"Not because I want to. Forget about me. Why are you here?"
"I did not listen to the adults and Luna got hurt."
"I see. Are you hungry?"
"No."
"Are you sure? Does your tummy hurt?" He asks looking at me strangely.
"No. My tummy is fine. No pain. Why are you here mister?"
"I--
"How wonderful! The bastard who killed my pup and the pup who murdered my mate!"
"I did not kill your pup! It was an accident!"
"Save your excuses I'm not here for you."
Alpha turned to me and he looked scary. He looked like most of the people I saw when I was brought here. Then he turned around and said something to one of the adults and left. Three adults came with the Alpha and they also looked angry. One of them opened my cell while the other two dragged me out. We went through a door that led directly into the pack house and then through the kitchen to the assembly field where I was made to kneel in front of the Alpha and everyone.
