We were on our way to the picnic. You tapped your fingers on the steering wheel, exhausted. The radio played, and our chatter masked its sound. I glanced out the window and saw it: the rock that was about to change our lives.
I thought you noticed it, but a moment later, we crashed violently, flipping the car. As I began to lose consciousness, I saw you covered in blood. My brothers cried out for us as everything went black.
When I woke up from my coma, I saw everyone around me, distraught. When I asked about you, they told me you were gone. I realized then that with your departure, the colors in my life had faded too.
