Sasuke scowled at the very pregnant blonde. "I left a reverse summonings, why did you send the toad?" he questioned, glaring at the excited woman.

Naruto laughed happily, bouncing on her toes in an effort to resist glomping the saliva-drenched Uchiha.

Sasuke secretly found the sight quite comical. He had to smirk at the irony, the dobe acting like a child, while pregnant with her own children.

"It's more fun that way. I'm just glad I missed the part where he spit you out" she finally answered, smiling at her house guest. She ignored the dirty look her gave her and let out a low whistle. "Woah teme you've gotten taller!" she noted, pouting up at him.

Sasuke smirked. The dobe had always been touchy about his height, even as a boy. "I did have my birthday already. You don't turn seventeen until October right?" he answered.

Naruto frowned. "Oh yeah, you're birthday was in July right? The 23rd, I missed it" the blonde replied, frowning at the tall male. "I'll have to get you something..." she added, bringing a hand up to her chin in thought. Shaking it off, she turned to him again. "Sorry, come on you must want a shower. I'll make you something good to eat. A special birthday meal!" she exclaimed.

Sasuke followed her into the house, his smile going unnoticed behind her turned back. Without saying anything, he walked over to the downstairs bathroom, deciding to clean up.

Naruto opened the fridge and frowned. What to make? She knew that Sasuke had an addiction to tomatoes and liked onigiri, but she didn't think those would make a good meal. Scanning the contents of her fridge, she hmmed. "What about...shrimp tempura, miso soup, onigiri and cherry tomatoes?" she questioned herself. Smiling she set to starting the rice in the rice cooker.

Naruto was just finishing when Sasuke came back out. He was rubbing his wet hair with a towel as he approached the table. He sat down and hung the towel over his shoulders, attempting to brush his damp bangs into something resembling his normal hairstyle.

Naruto laughed at his messy hair before smiling. She served him some miso soup in his bowl then turned to fill her own. "So what have you been up to the last two months?" she asked, lifting her bowl to drink her soup.

Sasuke downed his bowl of soup. Reaching for the plate of tempura, he turned to her. "The usual, looking for Itachi" he deadpanned, watching for her reaction.

Naruto sighed. "How's that going for you?" she asked petulantly, accepting the plate of tempura that he passed to her.

Sasuke grabbed a couple onigiri from the serving dish in the center before replying. "Not well" he answered, frowning.

Naruto nodded. "I've been thinking about something these past two months..." she stated, chancing a look at him. His face was unreadable, taking a deep breath she continued, "How is it that one shinobi managed to take out the entire clan?" she questioned hastily, rushing to continue when Sasuke opened his mouth to interrupt. "I-I mean this, Itachi may have been good, but the Uchiha clan was known for producing strong ninja. Sure he was skilled, gaining the title prodigy for reaching ANBU-captain at such a young age...but, Itachi wasn't the only ANBU in the clan surely? Not only that, but there were many skilled jounin" she explained, daring to look at him again.

"He took them by surprise. They didn't expect him to turn on them, he had an advantage" the raven muttured, looking faintly sick at the topic.

Naruto nodded at this. "While he may have had an advantage at the beginning, eventually it would have run out. The screams would have alerted the rest of the clan and after watching the first few hesitate and die, the others would surely learn. It reminds me of something Jiraiya once told me, 'Even great skill can be defeated by numbers'. Not only that, but how is it that no one noticed this until after Itachi already escaped? ANBU patrol the entire village, they even pass the Uchiha district. Fighting is never quiet unless it's an assassination and if it was only Itachi he would be unable to assassinate everyone without alerting the village. So either ANBU covered it up, or there were more people involved in the Uchiha clan massacre. I'm just saying, something about it does not seem right to me. It's just something for you to think about" she added, watching Sasuke closely.
