**Chapter One**
This chapter will be in third person
"Tanisha!" A voice called out. "Tanisha!" it called again. Tanisha was tossing and turning, deep in a trance. *No! Leave me alone!* she yelled out. Around her were vast trees that soared above her; it was a forest.
They were white-bark trees with beautiful pink blossoms. This was the same scenario of her repeated dream. She'd been having this particular dream for months now, trying to escape it but always failing.
"Tanisha! I can help you," the voice called out a third time. She cried out again, "Please! Leave me alone!" Suddenly, everything began to crumble and fall apart. The sky turned darker, and the once tall trees began to fall, creating obstacles in her way. She dodged and dashed as fast as she could with the ground crumbling and breaking away just behind her. There was a white opening, almost like a portal, not too far from her.
As she was about to finally escape her doom, a huge crack formed between her and her chance to escape, revealing a deep chasm. She was scared and terrified, no doubt. She took a couple of steps back and charged straight for the other side where the portal was.
She successfully reached the other side but then slipped from the edge due to the absence of the sun. She started to fall backward into the pit when suddenly a hand grabbed her, a strong one at that. She squinted her eyes and looked up to see the face, but it was too dark. She realized it was a male figure.
"Tanisha?!" the voice of a male trailed off as she opened her eyes slowly, regaining consciousness. Her sister was in her room, hiding something behind her as she saw Tanisha had woken up. "What are you doing?!" Tanisha asked.
"Oh, nothing...." Her sister gave an awkward smile.
"Okayyy..... Whatever. Don't come into my room like that again," Tanisha said, sitting up straight on her bed.
"Sure... was it another nightmare again?"
"Y-yeah... I think it was," she replied between yawns, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Which one was it this time?" her sister asked, hands on hip, looking at Tanisha. "The forest one," Tanisha bluntly replied, clearly still sleepy.
"Again?! They've been coming a lot recently."
"Yeah, I know I've be—wait, what's the time?!"
"Half past seven o'clock, why?"
"Seven?! Shit! Samantha's gonna kill me!" Tanisha exclaimed, suddenly jumping out of bed. "Who's Samantha?!" her sister asked. "April! She's my friend at college! Have you not been reading my texts?!" Tanisha questioned April, feigning annoyance.
"Uhh... never mind. Why's Samantha gonna kill you?" she asked.
"We were supposed to meet at up the park for one of her friend's house, Jiji for a party thirty minutes ago!" "You're going to a frat party?! Damn! Who are you and what have you done to my sister?!" April said, smirking. " Whatever ", Tanisha rolled her eyes. "Anyways! You can leave my room now..." Tanisha said, clearly suspicious of April. "Why are you even here?"
April hesitated, then quickly said, "Just checking on you. You seemed really restless in your sleep."
"Well, I'm fine now. Thanks. But I really need to get ready," Tanisha replied, rushing to her closet.
April left the room, and Tanisha hurriedly dressed, her mind racing. She couldn't shake the feeling that her dream was more than just a dream. But there was no time to dwell on it now. She had a party to get to.
Minutes later, she was out the door, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and anxiety. As she made her way to the park, she couldn't help but wonder about the mysterious voice in her dream and the male figure who had saved her. Little did she know, her life was about to change in ways she could never have imagined.
The park was buzzing with activity as Tanisha arrived. She spotted Samantha near the entrance, tapping her foot impatiently. "Finally! I thought you were going to bail on me," Samantha said, her tone a mix of relief and annoyance.
"Sorry, I overslept," Tanisha replied, trying to catch her breath. "Let's go."
They made their way to the house, the music growing louder with each step. The house was packed with students, laughter and chatter filling the air. Tanisha felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as they entered.
"Relax, have fun," Samantha said, handing her a drink. "You need to unwind."
Tanisha smiled, trying to push the lingering thoughts of her dream aside. She mingled with the crowd, enjoying the music and the company. But every now and then, she couldn't help but glance around, half-expecting to see the mysterious figure from her dream.
As the night wore on, Tanisha found herself on the balcony, looking up at the stars. The cool night air was a welcome relief from the crowded house. She took a deep breath, trying to clear her mind.
"Hey, you okay?" a voice asked, breaking her reverie. She turned to see a tall, dark-haired guy standing next to her. His eyes were intense, and there was something unsettling about him.
"Yeah, just needed some air," Tanisha replied, smiling nervously.
"I'm Luka," he said, extending his hand.
"Tanisha," she replied, shaking his hand.
They talked for a while, and Tanisha found herself feeling uneasy. Luka was charming, but there was an edge to him that she couldn't ignore. As they chatted, she couldn't shake the feeling that their meeting was more than just a coincidence.
The night continued, and Tanisha felt a sense of foreboding. As the party began to wind down, she realized that her life was on the brink of something extraordinary. The dreams, the mysterious voice, and now Luka—everything seemed to be leading her towards a destiny she was only beginning to understand.
Little did she know, her journey was just beginning, and the choices she would make would shape the fate of both the mortal and celestial realms.
