Flashbacks to the day of 9/11/01

"I was sitting on the bottom of my bed. I had just gotten through a big break up. My mom came in in her uniform. She comforted me." I told them. "I got up to get ready for school. We were only in school for about two hours then we were out for the attacks. I remember asking my teacher what was going on and she couldn't speak because she was too emotional to answer." I took a deep breath." I got outside and looked up. I saw the north tower in flames. And the south tower as well. I tried call my mom first but she didn't answer. Neither did my dad. Around the time the first tower had fallen. I got a call from my parents. My mom told me to be strong. We talked until there was silence on the phone. I knew then that they had died." I wiped away tears. "Every year the mayor asks me to give a speech and I always accept any chance I get to talk about my mom and dad. " I pulled up David lettermans monologue from the night after it all went down and we watched it and cried.
