Curiosity is A Dangerous Thing
Lilac's Point of View

Alice's hand is oozing with dark magic tendrils. Her hand is aimed directly at Lilac, seeming ready to strike at any moment.

Lilac is looking around, searching for possible exits, but comes up empty. Today is not the day to fight. They only had a week left until this semester is completed and everyone should have gained enough wisdom about their powers to combat Alice.

The blonde turned to Catt with sympathetic eyes, ready to say a silent apology, but noticed she wasn't there. Lilac forced herself not to stare, in case this was an idea of the pink haired girl's.

"Oh, what's the matter, dear Lilac?" Alice's voice dripped with mockery as she took a step closer, her eyes gleaming with twisted delight. "Is the big, bad resistance leader out of clever tricks? How disappointing."

Lilac gritted her teeth, refusing to give Alice the satisfaction of seeing her fear. She kept her gaze steady, trying not to betray the growing panic inside her. She had to think of something—anything—to keep Alice at bay. But with each passing second, the options dwindled, and the threat of the dark magic looming over her became more real.

"You know," Alice continued, her voice now laced with malice, "I could end this right now. All your little plans, all your hopes for a rebellion, crushed with a single flick of my wrist."

Alice raised her hand, the dark tendrils tightening around her fingers as she aimed directly at Lilac. The air crackled with anticipation, and Lilac could feel the power gathering, ready to be unleashed. She braced herself, muscles tensing as she prepared to dodge or deflect the attack—anything to buy more time.

But before she could act, Alice's face twisted with rage. "You think you can defy me? You think you and your pathetic little friends can challenge my rule?" Her voice grew louder, the edges sharp with fury. "I'll show you what happens to those who dare cross me!"

With a furious snarl, Alice thrust her hand forward, sending a bolt of dark magic hurtling toward Lilac. Time seemed to slow as the crackling energy spiraled through the air, a deadly force aimed straight at her heart.

Lilac's breath caught in her throat, and for a split second, all she could see was the end.

But then, in a blur of motion, Alison leaped in front of her. The raven-haired girl threw herself into the path of the magic, her eyes wide with determination.

"No!" Alice screamed, watching the spell she intended for Lilac land on her daughter.

The dark magic struck Alison with a violent impact, the force of it sending her sprawling to the ground. The air was filled with a deafening crackle as the energy dissipated, leaving behind a heavy silence.

Lilac stared in horror as Alison lay motionless at her feet, her body eerily still. The world seemed to tilt on its axis, and for a moment, everything else faded away—the mission, the rebellion, even Alice. All that mattered was the girl who had just taken a hit meant for her.

Alison had saved her life.

The blonde rushed to her side, cradling Alison in her arms. She desperately leaned into the raven haired girl to check for a pulse. It was there, but weak. This was all her fault and the guilt was rotting at her.

Tears spilled down her cheeks and landed on Alison. Lilac couldn't hold back her pain. The raven haired girl had been true to her word when she said she didn't want to see Lilac fail. What hurts Lilac the most is she didn't fully believe her when she told her.

Lilac brushes black strands out Alison's face and presses a kiss to her forehead.

"Get away from my daughter, you villainous scum," Alice cries.
