(JAY'S POV)
Today I am surprisingly happy. I don't know why but I don't mind, knowing that this is the best I've felt since the accident.
Today is Friday. Right now I am doing my school work. After the accident I started doing school online to be away from people. The only time I have to leave my house is for soccer or shopping or anything else.
Today, I have a soccer game. I woke up before my alarm which is not unusual. I had about 10 minutes before it went off so I laid back down and thought about what could happen today. I have a bad habit of overthinking but I can't stop. I mostly think about all the bad that could happen but thankfully, my thoughts get interrupted by my alarm.
It is now 5:30am. I get up, brush my teeth, and get dressed in my workout outfit. I put on my sweatpants and sweatshirt and finished it off with my mask. Ever since the accident, I've always worn something that covers my legs and my arm. I have prosthetic legs and my left arm is also prosthetic which is unfortunate because I am left handed.
I head downstairs at about 5:45 and grab a banana. I put on my running shoes and grab my phone and my headphones. I ran for about ten minutes to get to the gym. I don't get why people drive when they are going to work out anyways. I make it to the gym just before 6:00 which is perfect. I go inside and walk straight over to start my stretches. The staff doesn't stop me because I come here every morning at the same time. Never late, never early.
I finish my workout at around 9:30. I run home and take a shower right when I get home because my OCD ass can't stand being sweaty. Also, my house will be the cleanest house you have ever seen. I clean everyday and make sure nothing is dirty because it annoys the shit out of me. If I walk into someones house then I will clean their entire house before I even say hi to them. I used to do that all the time so if I ever went over to my friends house, I would leave with it being spotless. But since the accident, I haven't been over to anyone's house. It's fine with me because my friends'houses were always atrocious.
I finish my morning routine around 10 and head downstairs to make breakfast. I always make my own breakfast because I won't eat anyone else's cooking, plus I am a really good cook. I eat my small breakfast which consists of eggs and toast. I make sure the kitchen is clean before going into the living room and turning on the tv. I put on one of the uswnt games and sit on the couch. While watching any soccer game, I always observe how they play, what their tell is. I do it during my games too and that's how I never miss a shot.
It is now 12:00 and I have to be in the field for the home game at one. I put on my long sleeve under-shirt and whatever the pants are and put my shorts and jersey on top. My team colors are blue and yellow so I am wearing black under my jersey and shorts. I decided to only wear sweat pants because it's not too cold and I'm already completely covered.
I grab my keys, wallet, phone and cleats before putting on my slides and grabbing my longboard. I listen to music on my way to school and when I get there, I make sure to cover my face. I walk to the locker room where all the other girls are. Some greet me while others know it's pointless. I put on my practice jersey and head onto the field with some of the girls to warm up.
When we finish warm-ups, coach brings up back into the locker room and gives his pre-game speech. When he's done, we have two minutes till kickoff. I change into my jersey and get ready to go onto the field.
When we get onto the field, the captions go and do the coin toss and we get ball first. I already know this is going to be a rough game because the team we are against is very, VERY aggressive. We always get at least two players out during a game with them.
(I don't know much about soccer so I will try my best)
It's already half-time and it's not going as great as we would have liked. We are up 2-1 but we have a midfielder out and one of our defenders. Coach gives us his speech and we get back on the field. Their coach must have given them some speech because the second we started the game, they got the ball and scored. I knew I was needed if we wanted to win so I wasn't going to hold back. Our goalie sent the ball up field and my teammate caught it on her chest. She dribbled the ball up a bit then passed it to me. I was going to pass it back but I couldn't because she was guarded. I decided to go for it. I ran as fast as I could down the field. I nutmegged people how got in my was and jumped over people who tried to slide tackle me. The goal keeper had ran out of the box to try and distract me and get the ball but it didn't work, so I shot the ball in a empty net from about 30 yards away and scored. My teammates cheered for me while I got back into position. It was the 88th minute so all we had to do was not let them score and that's exactly what we did.
The coach brought us back to the locker room and congratulated us on our 3-2 win. Just as I was about to leave, the coach said there was someone here who wanted to talk with me in his office. I followed him, thinking nothing of it until I walked into the office and froze.
Who do you think it is? Also I want some ideas for this story. Thank you for reading!
