Xiao Qian entered the house, & Jia Xiufang saw her come back. She hurriedly stood up to put the food Xiao Qian had bought into the microwave to heat it up, but Xiao Qian urged her to sit on the sofa.

"I'm not hungry, Mom. Are u feeling better?"

"Ah... What can I do, whether I'm feeling better or not? I can't control him, whatever he wants to do." After hearing that Chu Xue might have a child, Jia Xiufang felt uneasy.

Buying food for Xiao Qian, seeing the neon lights of Night Shanghai, she calmed down. Although her heart felt sad, she didn't anguish over it as much.

Jia Xiufang still had 2 children to raise. Since that man ran off with another woman, she couldn't dwell on it.

"The Old Lady was nagging me about ur affairs all afternoon. u really shouldn't have said u were pregnant, it got her all worked up."

"I only said that because the situation was tense. If I hadn't, Chu Xue would have gone to my grandma's place & caused trouble. Who knows if my grandma would have gotten sick from all the stress?"

The Old Lady was quite traditional, & if she knew her son had divorced & was tangled up with another woman, she would not be able to stand it.

"Ah, ur grandma seemed quite upset too. Although she divorced ur father, she didn't treat us, her daughters-in-law, badly. I don't know how to handle this situation."

Xiao Qian nodded, "U just handle it the way u normally would. Right now, my grandma doesn't know about the divorce, & u shouldn't mention it. My grandma is old & can't handle any stimulation. If she has to hear about it, let Chen Lin tell her."

"Ah, I guess that's all we can do. But I'm so upset. Ur grandma really cares about u. Even though we divorced..."

It was awkward to suddenly divorce after addressing each other as relatives for so long. The interaction was awkward as well.

"Don't worry about what others do, just be true to urself. Tomorrow u prepare some dumplings for me to take to my grandma. She likes the dumplings u make. Also, prepare a portion for my brother. I'll take them, u don't need to. I'll handle Chu Xue's side, u don't have to worry about anything."

"Qian'er, can ur brother really handle the situation? When can we bring him back?" Jia Xiufang felt uneasy when mentioning her son.

He hadn't called for the past few days, & she had no idea how he was doing.

"Supposedly, these 2 days, we should be able to pick him up. I'll see how he behaves tomorrow before making a decision." Xiao Qian tucked her hair back, & Jia Xiufang suddenly noticed the gold bracelet on her wrist.

"Where did u get that?"

"It's from Yu Minglang's mother." Xiao Qian took off the bracelet, & Jia Xiufang pointed at her forehead with an annoyed look.

"U, I can't believe u went to his house without telling me! Did u go empty-handed?"

She knew that Yu Minglang's family was particularly well-off & was afraid her daughter might be looked down upon. She hadn't taught her daughter the necessary etiquettes for the 1st meeting with her boyfriend's family, so she didn't know how it went.

"No, Yu Minglang bought some fruits. How could I go empty-handed?"

"What are his family like? Were they friendly to u? Did they make u do any work?"

"His dad is a businessman, & he used to be a pilot. His mom is a doctor. I met his eldest brother & sister-in-law too, everything was fine. They treated me warmly, & they have a maid, so I didn't need to help."
