Warning- Fluff.
As the sun rose over the city of Las Vegas, Bucky woke up, bleary-eyed and disoriented.
Bucky groaned, rubbing his head as he glanced around. The hotel room was a mess, clothes strewn about and empty bottles littering the floor. He widens his eyes and turned to see Peach, who was still fast asleep.
Reality hit Bucky like a ton of bricks. The events of the previous night rushed back to him, and a wave of panic washed over him.
He looked at Peach, still sleeping peacefully, then his gaze landed on the "Happily Married" balloon tied to the bed. His heart quickened, pounding in his ears.
Bucky's mind raced as he tried to process what they had done. Had they really gotten married? In a drunken haze with an Elvis impersonator? The thought alone was enough to make him dizzy.
He sat up, taking in the scene around him. The room was a testament to their recklessness—empty bottles, casino chips, and...clothes?
Bucky's heart stopped. It appeared the events of last night had led to more than just a drunken marriage.
He swallowed, lifting the covers gingerly, almost afraid of what he might find. And there they were both of them, completely naked.
The sight only intensified the wave of panic that was washing over him.
Bucky's heart skipped a beat as he spotted the marriage certificate amidst the sheets. His stomach turned, and his mind reeled. With trembling hands, he picked up the paper, his eyes zeroing in on the names neatly written on it.
Bucky Barnes and Peach.
This was it. The undeniable proof that they had gone through with it in their alcohol-fueled stupor.
They had been drunk, yes. But they had also been careless, rash—a dangerous combination in a city known for its excesses. The enormity of what they had done was slowly sinking in. Bucky ran a hand through his hair, the gravity of their actions hitting him with brutal force.
Bucky, trying to keep his voice low to avoid waking Peach, hastily gathered his clothes and exited the room. He stepped into the hotel lobby, the bright lights and hushed conversations around him creating a stark contrast to the chaos in his mind.
Once outside the room, he couldn't hold it in any longer. The panic, shock, and disbelief exploded out of him as he let out a loud, guttural scream, drawing immediate attention from the hotel guests and staff.
Bucky stormed out of the hotel, his steps hasty and filled with a strange mix of annoyance and confusion. He had lost his job, and now this, getting married on a whim in Vegas to a woman he had known less than a day! It seemed like an absurd plot straight out of a bad movie.
He pushed open the door to the nearby diner, the clinking of cutlery and the smell of fried food filling his ears. He needed caffeine and a quiet place to think.
The diner patrons couldn't ignore the disheveled man who had barged in, his eyes wide and his muttering loud. They cast discreet glances in his direction, curious and mildly concerned.
Bucky was oblivious to the attention he was drawing. He sat down at the counter, ordered a cup of black coffee, and began to talk to himself rather loudly.
His words were a garbled mix of disbelief, panic, and confusion as he tried to make sense of the events of the past 24 hours.
"Married. In Vegas. To a woman I just met. What the hell was I thinking?" he muttered, running a hand through his messy hair.
