no two people ever feel love at the same time / to the same degree and that shit keeps me up night / browsing through TV channels in search of julia roberts.
you're a doctor / you wear latex gloves / overwork & overconsume / this thing your called caffeine / it soothes bones / like the laughter of children / your playmates before dusk / (remember when tag before used to be a game? what marvelous days!) / you wear stethoscope, alternatively / used to drown out screams / not that there's too many — a good hospital a silent one (faint static in the lobbies! what fun)
you perform lobotomies / you did one last night / on him / the one whose breath smells of jasmine and promises full of loopholes.
he watches / it makes you squirm / and you accidentally / out of pure confusion / slice out his lungs.
“you take my breath away. ” cut! cut! out with it! “but could you ever love?”
