Chapter Four

Grady's POV

I can't believe Sophie has a boyfriend now.  I knew it would happen eventually but it was so soon. And of all people.

Keefe Sencen. I mean...THAT BOY.  I smack the pillow.  "Aghh" I cry out in frustration. "Hun what's wrong?" Eda asks.  She will never understand what I go through.  Between all the discrimination I went through when we were younger due to my ability. And don't get me started on the 'Anger Issues'.

"I'm fine go back to sleep Eda." I try and convince her that I'm fine "No no you not" She turns on the light "What's wrong?" She asks "Sophie. I'm worried about her. She's not ready for a relationship yet. Especially with that boy..." "Babe Sophie is a teenager now. She's older then Jolie was. And Keefe is a great kid." "Ok..."

I give up arguing with my wife and lay back down "Goodnight Eda" "Goodnight Gray"

Edaline's POV

As I drift off to sleep I can't help but worry about Grady.  Ever since the Neverseen were defeated he hasn't been himself. He's been losing control of his anger and he even accidentally mesmerised me once. I know he's struggling and Sophie starting to date must make it worse but still...

"Goodnight Grady" I mutter under my breath as I walk down the hall to Jolie's room. I know I said I would stop sleeping in here but it's just for one night.

As I enter the room I see all the pictures and just the sight of them brings tears to my eyes. "Oh Jolie... You didn't deserve all this" I say sitting on the bed I lay down and start to silently sob "Jolie... You would have loved Sophie she's so kind. She started dating today. You know Lord Cassius. Yeah his son. They're perfect for each other." I slowly drift off to sleep not caring about what Grady thought.

Sophie's POV
The next morning

I wake up to the sound of the front door opening. I stand up and walk over to my bathroom and stare at my hair. I don't know how it got this bad. "Holy shit" I mutter as I grab a brush and a comb and walk over to Vertina. She's my magic mirror.

"Oh snap Sophie what happened" Vertina asks. "I slept" I say smiling

"What's going on your really smiley today" She asks "I got a boyfriend!" I squeal

"Oh... Golden boy?" She grumbles"Didn't you two break up" "No not Fitz, Keefe the blond one" "Ohhhh Sencen yeah he's nice. By the way you're gonna want to go slower if you want to have any hair left. You know actually go grab some Bobby pins" she suggests I grab a handful and she instructs me through pinning back my hair and doing some makeup.

"Woah...How did you do that?" I say "It's called I've been doing this for years".

I hear a knock on my door and see Edaline in my doorway. "Oh hey mom what's up" I say still smiling. "Oh Hun I'm worried about your father. He isn't himself recently he's losing control of his anger and he even accidentally mesmerised me once."

"He what!?" I say then realise something. "Keefe hasn't been himself either. He's been losing control of his emotions and his commander ability alot recently. He even tried to run away yesterday. That's not like him"

"I wonder if the problems are in anyway related" Edaline continues "Maybe we should ask Elwin or Mr Forkle. They are both really talented."

"Yeah I'll talk to Magnate Leto at school today" I say looking for my school uniform"Anyway I'll leave you to get dressed" She says with a knowing smile. "Don't get to pretty for him or people will get suspicious"

"Oh shut up!" I say slamming my fist into the wall. Edaline gasps "wh-whats wrong hunny are you okay" I'm completely shaken."I-I don't know why I did that it's like I was so angry I don't know I'm sorry"

"Make sure to talk to Leto at school this isn't okay. I'll hail Elwin to come over after school." She tells me

"Oh okay." I say as Edaline closes the door behind her I slip into my uniform and head to the leapmaster

"FOXFIRE" I call out and shimmer into the massive school.

Once again I see someone waiting for me. But this time. It's only one person. Who's battered up and bloody

It's Keefe. With Fitz walking away wiping his bloody knuckles.

Sorry for the short chapter I ran out of ideas lol. Don't worry Keefe won't die... Sandor is a lot more chill now but he does still follow her around so I probably won't mention him a lot. Ttyl
