1. Lies & Betrayal

A lie.

That was all this was, everything that came out of Elena Everhart's mouth was a lie, plain & simple.

Serenity knew she should've trusted her instincts when it came to her estranged & selfish mother, but she held a glimmer of hope that 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 her mother had changed and that she was serious about repairing their broken relationship.

But what a fool Serenity was. From evidence obtained by her lover, Percy Jayden, the shattering truth that her mother had lied to her from the beginning, her obsession with gaining superpowers once again was the driving force behind everything. Percy had found strong and credible evidence that Elena was behind the attack of the mutated Neo Evolvers, she had apparently created them and thus was responsible for the attack on Primus-7 that nearly eradicated the population, had it not been for Neo Evolution & Percy in his Death Berserker form, Primus-7 would have been destroyed, with all of the residents dead.

North Xianshui was almost in that same situation, but Neo Evolution had come prepared for that battle, these mutated Neo Evolvers were pure abominations who had terrorized Orion and this whole time......the creator of these monsters was right in front of them, Serenity was no longer shocked or hurt over the fact that her mother remained the same selfish person.

Those feelings turned into anger, further intensifying her resentment of her mother, she would never forgive Elena for this. But despite her rage against Elena, Serenity did not allow that to cloud her own rationale because she still listened to Percy when Neo Evolution discussed their next steps now that they discovered the identity of the person who created the mutated Neo Evolvers. Percy decided that the best course of action was to not let Elena realize that they knew about her secret, but he also knew that Serenity was far too angry to not want to confront her mother over this, he assured her that they would expose her when the time was right.

But that would be rather hard for Serenity because this was so personal for her now.

The team was gathered in the castle of Genesis, Percy was right to not trust Elena from the beginning, which is why it was safe for them to talk about the plan in the castle since Percy denied Elena access to Genesis.

Serenity was seated, her anger visibly showing as everyone showed their concern for their friend and teammate. Austin was distraught, he was heartbroken to find out the truth about his former wife, the mother of his children, this was why they had gotten a divorce, her obsession with converting herself into a Neo Evolver had caused a rift with her family. The entire basis of her visiting Serenity, moments of "bonding" with her daughter....it was nothing but deception. That was what Serenity was fuming with rage over, just when she thought her mother had truly changed her ways & realized how much she had hurt her daughter over these years.... the woman shows that she was still the same person that Serenity had resented throughout her entire life.

But that had left Serenity asking herself, why?

Why did Elena undergo a ruse/ploy to reach out her & Austin? If she was still the same selfish & power obsessed person...then what did she gain by trying to reconnect with Serenity when it was all a lie?

The rage could be seen in Serenity's eyes, being deceived by her mother when she knew that she should've trusted her instincts which were telling her not to trust Elena from the very beginning.

"So, what the hell are we supposed to do, just sit around here and wait? What if Serenity's mom is creating even more of those mutated Neo Evolvers as we speak?" Rex had asked.

"A better question is how she's been getting away with doing this for years? You'd think someone would've caught on by this point " Said Blake.

"Trust me, most of us know exactly what Elena Everhart is capable of" Logan nodded at himself, Zack, Max & Austin. "That woman only cares about finding a way of converting herself into a Neo Evolver"
